Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Hey snoop, I'm taking my time as much as possible. Hopefully this lockdown stuff will end soon. One good thing about no school is I can use the parking lot to get some flying in!!

finished up a few more details on the wing panel before setting it aside and starting on the other. I added some doublers for the hinges, as well as an anti rotation pin block, and some doublers for the servo opening. I also got the aileron built.

Got the tube doublers cut and installed. Also got the wire access done in the ribs. The tube is just set in place, as I will not glue it in until I mount the wings on the fuse and make sure the tube is exactly where it needs to be, then I'll glue the top sheeting on. This one is about ready to...

That info helps!! Thanks Balsa! One more question here, did you add any re-enforcement around the wing tube, or just use the ribs?? Thanks

Thanks Snoop!! I know I'm probably making a few mistakes on this one. The next one will be better, once I figure out every thing I need to change on this build. I'm in the process of putting together an assembly manual, to work every thing out. I'm hoping to at least keep it below 7.5 lbs. If I...

Decided to go with 1/8" X 4" balsa sheer webbing.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Thanks Balsa! I was thinking about that once I put that trailing edge piece on! I'm using 1/16" sheeting, and was thinking I should have used something a tad thicker. 1/16 is a bit soft. What is recommended?

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Changed my other mind! I'm going to leave the SFG's off of this one and go with stock wings. Working on wing #1, or the right wing, and got ahead of myself. I didn't open up rib 1 and 2 for wire access, but It's not a big deal to dermal them out now. Now I just have to configure the equipment...

I hear what your sayin! I'll probably build the mounts in, and try it both ways to see what I like better. I know the ProX really benefits from them. Hopefully the Glitter is a beast without them!

I hear ya Snoop, I do think they help with tighter knife edge loops, easier hairiers, and slower landings. Just more over all stability. I'm in the process of making a template for them. I'll have to make rib 7 out of ply though!

Like the side by side Snoop! I'm thinking of adding side force generators on this one also!

Think I got the fuse about finished up. Glued the rudder and rudder support on . Fuse stands up nicely on it's own.

I'm on my third ProX 260, so I do have some extra parts. I fitted the old lawn darted ProX landing gear today and so far so good!

Thanks Snoop, Got the landing gear figured out and the servo position will work out ok. It's close to where you have yours.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Ok, made my first mistake!! I used the ProX as a template for the throttle servo before checking the position of the root wing rib. Cut the hole in exactly the wrong spot. I had to fill in the hole and move the servo down a bit. I also built the tank/ignition mount. I think I've got the fuse all...
