Scale Bud Nosen 1/4 Scale Cub?

Knife edge and knife edge slips are really fun with a Cub. I'm trying to model this one after the Super Cub! PA18 maybe?? It will just be a sport scale. I'm not much of a scale nut, just like to push the limits of my understanding!!

Scale Bud Nosen 1/4 Scale Cub?

I'll post lots of photos. It will be a slow build, as I have about 3 projects going at once. It will also take time for me to get all the extras I need.

Scale Bud Nosen 1/4 Scale Cub?

Got started on the tailfeathers and I can see why people have issues with the die cutting! The plans also seem to have a stretch. But we'll see how it turns out. I also built a new S4 so they match up right. Also received the Super Cub cowl.

    Sport Name That Plane!

I think the wing bolt method was a mod the original builder added on this one. I'm pretty sure it's usually built with dowels and rubber bands for the wing attachment.

    Sport Name That Plane!

Yep, and I've read where some have as much as 10* on this one, depending on the engine they use. I've got a little more done on it. And I've got most of the covering off of the fuse. The wood under the covering was super gooey. I spent a couple hours just getting all the goo off with alcohol and...

Agreed! Not sure what engine was on it, But I'm going with the Eflite Power 15. I've read where some have had to add down thrust on these birds.

I'm also going to have to do some work to the fuselage.

    Sport Name That Plane!

Ok, here's the rebuild. I've got an older Butterfly that looks like it had a nitro engine in it for some time, then converted to electric. It was crashed and repaired, not so well, so I cut the tail off, pulled all the equipment, and got started building a new tail. I don't have any building...

I believe this one's been around since at least the 70's! Sold by at least 3 different companies.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I've used the harrier method before. Get the plane into a nice harrier and what ever wing drops consistently, add a little weight to the opposite side until it harriers nicely.
