Woohoo it flies! :woohoo!::woohoo!: I am going to switch to a Falcon 32x11W propeller, the Falcon 32x12 is just too much pitch. It's not that the engine can't lug it, because it rips it on the uplines at 3/4 throttle, it's just that the thing doesn't slow down. I'm...

Either way, it's getting a Falcon spinner :D If it needs more weight up front I'll just bolt some weights on somewhere to shift it forward, likely under the cowl.

The one that came with it needs a little adjusting to fit properly, but I may just hold out for a Falcon spinner like I put on my 105" Laser.

Just a little more work to do tonight with putting snakeskin over the wiring inside, and mounting RX pack, but otherwise CG is checked, rudder linkages are re-adjusted to clear the stabs, and transmitter is programmed up.

Got to work on setting the cowl up with baffling and a low pressure lip. I went with the "D" shaped cutout in the bottom and fitted a creative foam low pressure lip. Creative foam was also used to make the baffles for the engine. If you'll notice I also opened up case vents on the inside of...

Yes, there's probably several thousand people who make this their one vacation of the year and it got cut short big time.

Yes only the last inch is the active portion of the antenna. Multiplex opted to make these leads long in order to allow users to better place the antennas as far away from obstructions as possible. For me, in the rear area of the fuselage below the turtle deck has seemed to work the best.

Inching closer to completion!! Last nights work consisted of swapping the plastic throttle arm with an aluminum one- I did this for 2 reasons, the top of the arm is flat which means the linkage could sit right over the arm and not bind, and 2 I could get the linkage closer to the servo hub and...

Man I feel for everyone at Joe Nall. Mr. Pat and the TTA volunteers have moved forward with the decision to cancel the 2018 Joe Nall event due to impending weather. The forecast is for a very slow moving storm cell to roll up into camp and park itself right ontop of the grounds for the next 5+...

We will see at Tri Cities!!! For reference, it turns a 3 blade Mej 29x12x3EVO at 6000rpm, the Falcon 32x12x2 I have on it will spin at 6500rpm- Mine is not fully broken in yet and it's turning the 32x12 at nearly 6300rpm. It rips in a hover if I punch it wide open, and it smokes the DLE222...

More work over the weekend. All servos are installed and matched, McFueler in, tank fully plumbed, vents installed, just a few more things to button up and it'll be ready for a maiden THIS WEEKEND :omg::confused::D A video showing how I match servos too. I actually have to warn people...

Last night I worked on getting the throttle and choke servos installed. I just so happened to have a pair of 6" SWB titanium turnbuckles that did the job perfectly, and using one of the supplied servo boxes, plus a servo box from the 105 Laser, I was able to glue them to the sides of the...

There's no noise restrictions where we fly. I'm not heavy on the throttle anyways.

After evaluating the time I have left to get this bird flying the weekend before June 9-10 (1st huckfest of the year), it was decided that I had to cut and clearance the cowl for the JMB keg mufflers I have for the ZDZ180. Originally I was going to go with canisters but I'm just out of time now...

Made my own custom linkages for the rudder servos last night, and programmed the rudder servos to be in sync with each other. These servos are incredibly linear, looking forward to hammering these real hard!!

That's the 105 Laser that needs a 120CC. The 115 Laser is a 40% airplane and needs a 150CC minimum. The 115 shares the exact same fuselage as the 123" Laser which requires a 200CC 4 cylinder, so anything between 150-222cc aught to work real well. The ZDZ180 is the most powerful engine in all of...

Not to brag but this weekend had weather in the 90's and nothing but sunshine!! :D I brought out the Multiplex Easy Glider 4 too and was able to chase a few thermals, one of them speck'd the airplane out!
