The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I toyed (ha ha...) with the idea of one of these: https://www.kz-rv.com/2017-products/escape-travel-trailers/2017-E140TH.html There's a dude on Facebook that fit his 40%, and 2 35% airplanes in one. Little over 1 ton total weight, would pull easily with most SUV's.

Flew my Funman last night. Can get 15+ minutes out of a 2s 2550 rx pack, or 30+ out of a 5000 :D:eek: What a fun little airplane. Super sporty, just sad we discontinued it :(

Put this little guy together last night. There was a box of parts (ok, several dozen huge boxes..) that was set to be tossed out at work so I grabbed it and some spare parts for it. Believe it or not it had a brushed speed 400 motor, a 16 amp brushed ESC, and a 7 cell 850mah NiMH installed in...

Give er a whirl! I used these grommets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002X4AFL0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And some 1/16 ply from BUSA.

Tightened up the covering on my 115 AJ Laser last night, and finished off with putting these plywood plates in with rubber grommet to pass the elevator wires through. Keeps it neat and tidy.

The XPS X24 was a fantastic unit but it's not compatible with the equipment I'm using now, so I removed it and have already sent it to a new home.

Cleaned up the interior of the 105 Laser last night. Cut a new 1/8 ply plate to mount my rx packs to, which was screwed in place so that it can be removed later if I need to work on something (like moving the elevator wires around). Then a 1/16 ply plate was cut to shape to let me mount the rx...

Help! Anyone own the 104" AJ Slick?

Go with the 111. The weight difference alone will make it fly much better :way_to_go:

Vans are great for hauling airplanes. No windows, and they can usually be had for cheap. Picked up this clean '99 Express 2500 for a song and it has a 350 in it :yesss: I think I've had almost a dozen airplanes inside of it at one point :oblong: Plus they're great project boxes for doing...

Installed a J&J Tailwheel with a tailwheel installation kit, both courtesy of Terry's Custom!! The J&J is TWICE as thick as the stocker, and is way more heavy duty.

Flew my 115" Laser 230Z this weekend, what a fantastic flying airplane! Aileron is ultra crisp and super responsive, tail has a lot of authority too, and the ZDZ180 is a match made in heave for this airplane. Hitec HSB-9381TH servos offer GOBS of torque and ultra efficient power output- 1 flight...

I have not, don't have a scale that will weigh it. It flies light as a feather and is super crisp on the roll rate. ZDZ180 is a monster in this airplane, and I'm not even fully broken in yet :banana-dance:Some video action from the weekend, both links should be view-able by the public...
