    3DHS 84" Bigfoot Build Log

Bigfoot Maiden Well, it was pretty windy yesterday (10-15mph) but since we're running out of decent flying days up north, I decided to give it a try. Preflight went fine, OS GT33 started up great (it has been run in other airframes and is fully broken in). Decided not to use any flaps until I...

Well, I finished the build...required a few late nights last week. :| Here's the final set of build pics, including the air tunnel exit...this setup makes sense to me. (I added the angled balsa sheet to close off the tunnel here and direct air out the bottom...the tunnel actual goes back...

ok what's the deal with no discussion on venting? I'm almost done building and I realize there is no venting provided for underneath...that is...no exit venting for my GT33. The 71 Slick has a vented cover you can put underneath to provide for exit air. I've searched all the threads on...

Glad the pictures helped! I've seen both the cinch straps and the double sided velcro on a roll at Home Depot. Weaser's post about the Align battery straps is also valid. You'll find that with most 3DHS planes, they are built light, strong, and correct. Wait til you fly it! :D

    3DHS Planes Picture Thread

Awesome pics as usual...nice to see someone else with this plane in this color scheme! I've got a DLE-55RA on mine and its great...15 minute flight times and still come back with 1/2 a 32oz tank ;). I've heard some really good reports on the GP61...you might consider that one as well as the...

Glad you got the soldering completed. Here are some pics of my ESC and other stuff. I do not use the stock velcro straps...they are not sturdy enough. Use heavy duty velcro from Home Depot or similar. Couldn't find any good pics of the battery straps...I used two, one around the front of the...

I think I'm using a 17x8 or 17x10 prop on mine with a Motrolfly 4320. Regarding soldering, you won't need an iron or torch...a good soldering iron will suffice. Here's a great soldering reference: http://www.3drcforums.com/content.php?205-Soldering-info-with-a-perspective-on-the-equipment

    3DHS 84" Bigfoot Build Log

Ok so the goal tonight was to get the engine and cowl mounted...I'm slow, and cutting the cowl is a slow process (for me anyway)...but I reached my goal. I also put the stock gas tank together. I like the Fortitude tanks but I don't have one laying around right now so I'm going to use the...

Cool...good to know...which motor? and did you cut a hole in the firewall for the carb? (trying to figure out what might be causing the pressure buildup inside the fuse that would cause the door to blow off)
