    Gas Engines - Maximum Altitude?

My home elevation is 825', I fly at two fields, the lower elevation is 1155', the higher is 1700', my engines run the same at each site, considering i run the engines on the ground at home and fly up to 400' (wink, wink) the Walbro carb can easily handle 1300' change in elevation.

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% PA-28 Cherokee Build

The photo of the stab support helps a lot. It is a combination of the WH plans and section J-J on the three view.

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% PA-28 Cherokee Build

I do not understand your reasoning for canting the firewall, it is overlapped by the cowl by several inches so nobody is going to see it. It would also complicate mounting the engine. I used machined standoffs to set the right and down thrust. I already have a custom nose wheel bearing set at...

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% PA-28 Cherokee Build

I'm putting the final touches on the Champ fuselage pinking tapes, I keep starring at the Cherokee plans hanging from the ceiling. I'm giving serious thought about making a mold of the fuselage and laying up the next one. This would be a serious mold. This would allow making a detail interior...

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

When out flying yesterday and one of our members put in three planes. Went back this morning and his friend was there, I ask him "Where's Jim, did he run out of ammo?" He laughed and told me the only thing that bother him was that he couldn't find parts for the nose wheel on his 60 sized Piper...

I find parallels very handy. Ones wider than 1/8" would nice to have.

    What beer ya drinking tonight?

Out with family yesterday, found this board rather unique. Of course I drank Miller Lite in a bottle as all the taps were occupied.

I didn't put any guards on the scales installed with the reader down. The only one that was guarded was the lathe cross slide and now that is gone.

Kind of odd! You got me thinking of a smaller scale. I don't know about the output listed, you have two options, quadrapture and 1 v pp. My display uses a RS422 TTL and I don't if either of those will work, I'm rather sure yours is TTL as well. Rewiring was easy, I just mentioned it to make...

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

The magnetic scale arrived today for the cross slide. It is installed and I can now touch the chuck jaws with a tool now, I'm happy. See the before and after photos. I did need to rewire the plug to match my RS422 pinout. Above is the original glass scale, it was 2 1/4" long. The magnetic...

I tried using the follow rest once but things didn't work as expected. I like the way Joe Pie does it with micarta board.
