Build log: Redwing RC 76" MXS-R STOJANOVSKI SCHEME

He was talking about using two 6s4000 in parallel. When I built the MXSR with a DLE30, it was about 11.4 lbs or so, and had heavy servos. I figure an electric setup wouldn't have less than 11lb AUW. Btw, for reference this flight is on 6s5000, Motrofly 4330-400, 11lb AUW plane...

Might be cheaper to just buy a motor to fit your gear. I recommend the motrolfly 4330-400kv. I've been really happy with that motor on 6s in a 25% plane.

Oh, and to get 2400w (which you'll definitely want on the MXSR) you'll need a bigger ESC for 6s, as 2400w / 24v is right at 100a, and that's a little to close for comfort, I usually like a tiny bit of headroom. On 8s, you're fine since 2400w / 32v is 75a.

With those two packs in parallel, you'd need to run about a 21x10 or even a 22x10 prop... And I don't think it'd be very efficient.

My input would be that you're not planning for the right prop / cell count combo. Electric props work different than gas, and you really want about pitch to equal about 1/2" diameter. Also, your kv wind is DEFINITELY more suited to a 8 cell setup with a 19x10 or 20x8 prop. Unfortunately...

Had a little accident with the 72" yesterday, and spent most of this morning getting her all fixed. She won't win any up close beauty contests anymore, but sure looks good from about 10 feet away ;) Before: After: Also, ordered the replacement landing gear from graphtec today, hopefully...

nice job so far, cant wait to see it fully built with your awesome vinyl on it. Curious, do you know what kv the motor is, and how much it weighs? figure it'll be kinda hard to chose cell count and prop without that info ;)

One other thing I'd like to add: With my build and placement of equipment, the airplane came out dead neutral in flight: no climb/dive on 2/3rd power inverted up-line. Batteries were placed on the sides of the fuel tray, just prior to the first former. Wolverine switch placed as forward as...

I don't have the plane with me at my hotel, however I used the stock arm, short servo arm on inner hole, and that worked fine for me. You can see the back of the firewall below: http://www.3drcforums.com/showthread.php?2669-Redwing-89-quot-Extra-330SC&p=67248&viewfull=1#post67248 I installed...

Thew new @RedwingRC Extra 330sc gets the thumbs up! Overall, the plane flew very, very well. I'm still getting her dialed in, and it was a brand new engine (first start 2 minutes prior to maiden) so I didn't push too hard. Here is what I can say with certainty: this one is a keeper...
