    noob looking for advice

I recommend this motor: http://www.buddyrc.com/sunnysky-x2814-1000kv.html And an 11x5.5 prop. That is what I had on mine a few years ago. Those savox servos will work great.

    noob looking for advice

Had the 41" Edge as my first balsa plane. it served me well... great plane. that said, as I improved, I enjoyed the 42" slick MUCH more. If you can power through a slightly steeper learning curve, the 42" Slick will bring you much more pleasure in the long run.

Discussion What Airframe would you buy if you had a DLE55 to motivate it?

I think it depends on the airframe honestly. The redwing 50cc slick is perfect on a 55, and obscene on a 60cc. The redwing 50cc extra is a little heavier, and is still amazing on a 60cc. The Aeroplus is about the same, amazing on a 60cc, but will do well on a 55cc too. The 3dhs newer...

    Bavarian Demon Cortex

Depending on how you use it, a cortex can definitely help you learn to fly better. While it won't do maneuvers for you, it will help keep the plane stable. The trick to using it to learn, is that once you have something down, like a hover, slowly dial the gains down until the cortex isn't...

    GP 61 -Discussion thread

Blake, I did that with the gp61 in the Aeroplus 92" edge today, and it did fine, but it has holes in the cowl to do it. I'll drill some holes in the Redwing cowl so I can do the same thing, as I don't have a torch as recommended above. Thanks guys! :)

    Gecko ZTW 85 W/SBEC 8A throttle weirdness/shutdown

No, on a heli idle up takes it to 85-100% power. On a plane, it takes an electric from stick stopped to just enough power to keep the prop moving. This way no matter what, the motor never has to get the prop spinning from a stop, and this keeps the timing better and improves response. I do...

    Aeroplus 60cc / 92" Edge 540 V3 from Limitless Aero

Plane, and engine, did phenomenal. I really dig the oversize controls on this plane, and the GP61 throws it around like a rag doll. Really surprised by the performance on essentially a new engine (new cylinder/ring/piston). Couldn't resist and brought it down for some low and slow: completely...
