That will be part of the inspection once it's off. The boat has 285 hours total run time on it with the block being rebuilt at about the 150 hour mark. It's pretty evident the PO did nothing to keep things clean and flushed out. I flush the engine after every weekend of being in the river...

No airplanes for me the past 2 nights, and seemingly it'll be a reoccurring theme the rest of this week and next week :oblong: Discovered that my dads boat had a good sized water leak last weekend so it was time to replace the water pump. Well once I dug in I discovered a whole slew of things...

Put my pants on tonight :oblong: The wheel of choice is the almighty DuBro treadlight. Along with stock Pilot axles. These will work until I decide I want to get a little more blingy with something fancy like AirMan or White Rose. Also, some PureTech straps for the batteries.

It's actually surprisingly spacious as far as working on the AC components once you get the overflow tank and the airbox out of the way. I was happy that removing and replacing some of the components was as easy as removing bolts, no tight spaces to have to reach through.

Well this morning was pretty messy (you don't want to know) so I had to stay home from work. Inbetween trips to the bathroom I managed to get work done on the Edge, I just need the right prop, some good wheels, and away it'll go!!! Cowl cut and clearanced. Wiring tidied up, ready to...

2 awesome days of flying the Yak. A little CG change on Saturday night had the airplane flying even more rock solid than before!! Going to push the CG forward a little more and then it should be just about perfect :D

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

After flying my Yak on Saturday I realized the CG was too far back, and the covering was really peeling back on the bottom, so with only 2 flights I had to pack it up and haul it home since I didn't want to tape it up at the field o_O A new sheet of black covering (since I don't have any...

Discussion Federal Appeals Court: FAA Registration Rule violates Section 336

The FAA still has the option to appeal the ruling, but some are saying that they probably will not. If this holds firm then the registration for model aircraft may go away.

Discussion Federal Appeals Court: FAA Registration Rule violates Section 336

This is some interesting news.... http://www.wolfenstock.com/TaylorvFAA/TaylorFAAOpinion.pdf "In short, the 2012 FAA Modernization and Reform Act provides that the FAA “may not promulgate any rule or regulation regarding a model aircraft,” yet the FAA’s 2015 Registration Rule is a “rule or...

Spent a little more time on the Edge yesterday. Got the ignition mounted, at first I had it ontop of the motor box but I didn't realize it's too tall for the cowl, so I had to relocate it inside of the motor box. Hopefully it's far enough from the servo to prevent EMF. Wires all routed...

Glad I finally got 2 solid flights in on the Extra without something keeping me from flying it :oblong: Saturday I had a small window to try and get a flight on this thing to see if all my problems were solved so I strolled by my old club that is closer to where I live and was promptly...
