Yes and yes actually. I'd rather not risk my investment using them, they work great on electrics and glow airplanes, but gas airplanes I won't use them.

I do not recommend using the HD horns with a gasoline engine, stick with aluminum.

Well I finally had some time to get the motor box glued into the Aerobeez Extra, a new cowl also arrived on Friday so we're just about ready to go :) (You can see my "Hitec" clamp system- 4 servo boxes and some plywood shims to press the box into place against the old motor box) We're on...

Testing some of my other graphic intensive programs (more than RF7.5) I haven't gotten it to sag yet, runs at a solid 100 frames. The best part is I pieced this computer together with high grade components, no factory BS with bloatware on it.

Well I took a break from airplanes last night to assemble my new computer :) Should run RealFlight 7.5 at a full 100fps with no lag :D For the curious computer enthusiasts, here's the build: Core I5 6500 processor, Gigabyte H110 Skylake mobo, G.SKILL 8Gb DDR4 ram, EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3Gb...

    servo balancing

I run 7955's and 7954's on my 35%. My 40% gets 7980's. Any new airplane I build though gets our HSB-9380TH's, HSB-9370's on 70CC and smaller. Our brushless servos are so powerful that we had to dial back the output power to keep from breaking the entire geartrain, the power output is also...

    servo balancing

Hitec servos have mechanical stops at slightly more than 180 degrees of movement. Unless you program the servo way off center, then it should not affect range of motion.

    servo balancing

The quickest and easiest method is just to plug the servos into their own channels on the receiver and setup each servo independently. I generally will start with the inboard servo (the master) connected to the surface and the outboard servo (the slave) disconnected from the surface at the...

New 91" Slick wings all setup and ready to rock!!! Picked up some handy new dripper tubes at AMA Expo so I was able to saturate most of the joints in the wing's with thin CA. I like to do this on all my airplanes to ensure everything is sufficiently bonded :)

I forgot this is only a 26%. You don't need 2 rudder servos on that airplane, you don't even need 2 rudder servos on a 35%. Save some weight and save that servo for another airplane ;)

I'd Y your rudder and elevator servos in the SF if you can do it, give you individual channels on the ailerons.

52" EXP. Started work on the 126" Extra tonight. Carved out all the old junk in the way of the motor box and managed to get the new box to slide right in. Will need to pick up some clamps to keep it all straight when I epoxy it in, but it's ready to be glued in :) Safe and sound back in...

Picked up a new toy at the AMA Expo this past weekend. Just waiting on servo stock :) Hoping to get some work done on the Aerobeez 126" Extra tonight, at least get the motor box area prepped to accept the new motor box.

I'm using HS-7954SH's on my 70" electric Slick, no such thing as overkill. I would use the 7954's, you're better having too much servo than not enough. Servos like the HS-5665MH or HS-5645MG have a 3 pole motor in them which is what causes the odd centering issue, you really don't notice it on...
