    JR 8711 with melted plug

Most it I'm sure is age. The extensions were old and had been in several planes. My self and several others on another forum did a power study on GS planes and this is what got me to make big changes in the way i do things now. I completely changed over my new plane, but didn't do the old one...

    JR 8711 with melted plug

I was getting started on my new plane today by installing the rudder servo. It's a 8711. this servo had been in my old plane for 8 years. when i striped the old plane I didn't take a good look at the stuff, just put it in a box. Today I looked at the servo plug and saw it had melted, the pins...

    DX8 or not?

All the receivers sold by Horizon now are DMX now. The radio will go both ways. You can't tell the difference. The DSM2 may take a little longer to boot up but that's it. I'm still using the first 9ch Spektrum receivers they put out. Dennis

    Rave A 123 Battery

I use nothing but A-123's now in my big planes. I'm getting ready to start a new plane soon so i thought it would be a good idea to cycle my new battery's . I got them from Tailgraggerrc.com about a year and a half ago. they were fully charged at that time. Today I started my cycle and found the...

    Programmable Mixes

Certain mixs used in competition such as the down line mix should be on a switch. also a mix for high alphs where you have the ailerons go up with up elevators to help with wing walk should also be on a switch. Another would be a snap roll were you want high rate ail and rudder but low rate...

    Programmable Mixes

Also Steve by having the mix 2 is also the flat turn mix. And the mix can be different from Lt. to Rt. or Rt. to Lt. Dennis

    Programmable Mixes

If you have coupling you want to have the mix on all the time. Here's another example why. If you have coupling in a flat turn where the inbound wing drops when you input rudder. During a landing were you what to slide the plane over to the runway. the last thing you need is for the wing to drop...

    Programmable Mixes

If you have a flying buddy you trust you can do this. And I'll use knife edge mix as a example. Have the mix screen up on the radio and fly the plane. Lets say left to right in knife edge. While your holding it with the sticks, have your "co-pilot" put in the mix until you don't have to hold the...

Discussion Wow, a plane can do that?

Try owning a LHS. I list some of the questions (1) how fast (2) how high (3) how far (3) how much (4) is it hard to learn I answer these questions all day. I have too. If one one gets in I get a customer and a flying buddy too. the hardest one is on my planes. I build in my store and people will...

    Programmable Mixes

As far as using a rate switch, I just keep playing with EXPO until I don't need to change rates much. This helps with snaps. You want high rates on the Ail. and rudder but low on the elev. Using high rate on the elev. puts the plane in to deep and you lose it in a stall. High rate should not be...

    Programmable Mixes

Also besides the coupling mixes you have some IMACC mixes used by a lot of the pilots. (1) Throttle to rudder. (2) Down line mix. In the advanced radios you can assign the different mixes to different flight modes. A good example of coupling is my old Bob Truworthy Monster 12 Pitts. Because it...

    DX8 or not?

I know the most popular radios sold in my store are the DX6i and the DX8. Wish I had a DX 18 myself but can't take the hit on my new JR 11. Dennis

    Gas related questions

See I told you he would agree with me. He's got to spend more time here. He can bash a plane better then most. He can give Joe a run for his money. The difference is Joe lands in one piece. Chad forgets to bring his wings with him sometimes when he lands. LOL He needs to buy one of Joe's used...
