The only reason I was going with the TBM is its all in one hook up and has a kill switch built in. I am not use to these Hv setup at all and wouldn't even know how to hook everything up.Would I still need a Hv bec to run my servos or does the bader switch take care of powering them as well...

Thanks Enterprise for all the info . I think I made up my mind Finaly. I am going with the dle 35 ra and Tbm 40cc power syste single battery setup. 16oz Fortitude tank. I already have 4 hs5565 waiting to install them until I get the whole setup together for placement for cg and pull pull or push...

    74" Edge 540

Thanks for the help guys. It is so hard trying to figure out what motor to put on this plane not knowing much about gas engines i have the money but dont know what to do and now i see dle sell a 40cc twin that is about a pound heavier then the vvrc. This is driving me crazy to the point were if...

did you have the VVRC twin in the 74" if so did you still use pull pull so I can Finnish the servo set up while I'm waiting for the engine and do twin engines seem to dead stick less then a single engine .

    74" Edge 540

How does the VVrc twin run compaired to the Dle 35ra as far as smoothness and starting ect. I think the twin on the 540 would be sick and would love to put it on but i know you have had this plane and know all the engines so if you were building it again what would you put in it ?

After stopping in at my local flying club and joining i am going gas and now i have to figure out what motor to put in the edge. Yup the cowl is just up to the cowl and it bugs me it would look so much better if it just fit over the firewall just that little bit ,oh well. Can someone tell me what these two little balsa boxes are for?

    74" Edge 540

Talked to 3dhs yesterday and they are sending me a new cowl. I asked them about the cowl going on up to the firewall or slipping over the 1/16th of an inch and they said it should slip over up to the balsa stop inside the cowl . I guess i will find out tomorrow when i get it.

    74" Edge 540

The crack is small and the cowl is pretty ridged still but think its just a bad mold. I am sure 3dhs will take care of . Thanks

    74" Edge 540

Does the cowl slip over the airframe over the firewall or does it go up to the fire wall because I also notice a gap on one side up against it and when I inspected it I found the balsa trim inside the cowl is flush on the side with the gap and a 1/16 or so back on all other side.i would think it...

    74" Edge 540

It's finally here and what a beautiful plane. The only issue I see so far is a crack on the front cowl. After inspecting the cowl it seems really thin in the area of crack. Hopefully 3dhs will get back to me on that. After seeing the size of this plane I don't think I can bring myself to go...

I was looking at the hanger 9 metal servo extension arms . Can you tell me what sizes needed for this plane and does the pull pull need to be offset . I really like the looks of the hitec 7956shr pull pull but looks way over kill.

The 5565 are faster but less torque then the 5585.are the 5565 ok for a gas setup too ? So do you think the 7985's are over kill for this plane or a good idea to spend the extra $ . I do like them being $70.00 even though i cant beleave i just said that . I am so used to the 51" size and smaller...
