October 4 - 7th - Austin Radio Control Association HucktoberFest- Austin, Texas

<------ Not packing up. I can't get a replacement at work. Not too happy about it. :bull: :cursing:

A spotter's job is to watch other traffic at all times to keep your pilot and them from meeting in the middle. If you think your pilot and someone else are going to end up on a collision course, it's your call to tell them to knock it off or give them a direction. I've been told I sound like a...

This one is quite pricey too. Skip Stewarts new P3 design. One model currently in flight testing, parts to make the molds for the full scale in progress. The model's price tag is $7500!!! All composite, but still, $7500!?! I think I'll just fly Skip's when I go up to Tennessee. Very awesome...

I'm not giving up hope just yet. I still have a week to try, but not getting my hopes up. I really had a blast at ARCA last year and was looking forward to it being a Huckfest this year. I miss my Texas peeps! Either way, making it or not, we'll meet up soon enough I'm sure.

Chad, it's not looking good for Austin. I doubt I'll be able to get out of work. The guy that was going to work my weekend for me got handed his walking papers two days ago.

Yeah, sounds a bit complicated. Stick to the little electrics. Just make sure to wear a pocket T-shirt for your slide rule. LMAO!

Well, if you're gonna go out for that, might as well make it worth it. Get a 126"!

Not sure. My phone research involves asking friends what they think of their phones then reading the online feedback. I got the Bionic when it hit the shelves before there was really any reviews or ratings. My first mistake. I'll just keep slapping this one around and cycling the power for now...

I have the Droid Bionic. I got it when my two year old original Droid started going haywire. It would start opening apps, texting and calling peolpe randomly as soon as I unlocked the screen. My Bionic is maybe a year old and has been screwy since it was two months old. Data service will stop...

So hard to play with models these days. There's always something coming around that distracts me.

No. The full scale Slick is not like an Edge or Extra.

A good old 172 would do me just fine. I'll be married next month and my fiance' loves flying. I've been browsing the ads for a good used 172, but a good friend of mine (31 year old B-52 pilot) just recently bought a Skybolt for under $60K. After flying it a little, I tell my fiance' that finding...

Same here. A country boy like me has no place in the middle of the city. Not when it's cookie cutter houses with literally five feet in between. Mine's an older neighborhood so it is becoming affordable to the low lifes. Not a bad neighborhood, but it won't be long before it is. I hope to be...

That sucks Steve. Some parents need more than a guidebook to raise their offspring these days. I mean like more than a tooth knocked out, too. Just yesterday, I was attempting to mow my lawn, but had to stop to pick up all the pine limbs and pinecones that had just several days ago been stacked...

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

The BUFDT as I like to call it. Big Ugly Flying Dump Truck. Lol. One of my good friends(B-52 pilot) shot a little video during a refuel on his way to Guam. We were watching him twist the yoke from side to side in big amounts, yet the plane hardly banked. After asking about it, he said that thing...

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Welcome Chris! When were you at KBAD? My dad retired from BAD and after my mother passed, moved back to his hometown in SE AR. I've grown roots here so decided to stick around. Barksdale is right in my backyard. I couldn't imagine life without the roar of those eight engines on a daily basis...

A good starter or 2nd 3D plane suggestion

Pattern ships aren't designed for 3D, and although it can be done, it's not recommended that the novice pilot try it. 3DHS does make a hybrid pattern plane called the Super Vyper. Balanced a with a forward CG it tracks as pin point as you want it and draws some amazing lines. Push the battery to...
