    Hobbyking Slick 360 3D

I would only buy 3DHS if I lived in the States. It would probably end up costing me nearer $200-250 extra, and for that I could get another entire plane! Wouldn't some SFGs reduce the wing rock problem?

    Hobbyking Slick 360 3D

Thanks for your help. One last question, what servos did you end up using? HobbyKing recommends 12g ones, but those are almost too small for a 48" plane on 4S, let alone this 51" one. Also, 3DHS recommends HS-85MGs (21g each) for their similarly sized Slick.

3D GRAVEYARD (Post pics of the mangled old bones that used to be your Airplane!)

Thanks! I'm finding that repairs are not as hard as the mangled remains of a plane would suggest. Of course practice does help... Thanks man. I've been looking all over the internet for it, it's dirt cheap in places like HobbyKing, but shipping prices increase dramatically when there's a 750mm...

    Hobbyking Slick 360 3D

Thanks for the details. I am still getting into 3D flying, balsa planes in particular. I haven't flown many, so honestly I'm not too fussed about the last small percentage performance benefit of the "real deal" aircraft, however knowing that the ability is there is reassuring. I'm looking for...

    Hobbyking Slick 360 3D

Does anybody have experience or know anything about this plane? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20134__Hobbyking_Slick_360_3D_Blue_1300mm_ARF_.html It looks to be pretty well built, fantastic price, flight videos look great. I tried to get info on RCGroups, but of course it...

That yellow and black slick is really nice looking. Great photos!

3D GRAVEYARD (Post pics of the mangled old bones that used to be your Airplane!)

Not a 3D plane, but yet another one almost completely resurrected! After a 60mph dirt nap: After repairs: I still need to work out how to repair/replace the main spar, as carbon fibre is hard to come by in Ireland, and it is quite expensive when you can find it.

    Aerobeez 30cc 71" Extra 330SC

No worries, it happens to the best of us. That definitely looks a lot more achievable for someone in my position... Not to mention a whole lot less intimidating!

    Aerobeez 30cc 71" Extra 330SC

I'm sure it'll be well worth it!

    Aerobeez 30cc 71" Extra 330SC

That's certainly a lot more than my 48 parkflyers! :p Better start practicing and saving...

    Aerobeez 30cc 71" Extra 330SC

What sort of cost would one be looking at to set this up as an electric or gasser? I mean for everything, servos, prop, Rx, power system, etc. I'd really love to get into gas at some stage and I really like this plane. Electric would be awesome too, but given that I don't have batteries I'd...

    Aerobeez 90" Extra 330SC (50cc)

That doesn't look so bad... All the same, I know the frustrations of a crash, especially on a fairly new plane.

Determine CG OF An Unknown Air frame (30% TOC Extreme Yak 54)

Usually 3D planes balance around the wing spar. Failing that, between 25-33% of the wing chord back from the leading edge at the wing root is a more accurate way to find the CG. If you want to get even more technical in finding the CG, trace one of your wings out on a large sheet of paper...

3D GRAVEYARD (Post pics of the mangled old bones that used to be your Airplane!)

It was actually surprisingly easy! I might just give this "building" thing a go :D

3D GRAVEYARD (Post pics of the mangled old bones that used to be your Airplane!)

Despite the fact that it looked like a total write-off this time last week, it's now back in one piece! I still have to put in some strengthening pieces but I'm all outta glue...

3D GRAVEYARD (Post pics of the mangled old bones that used to be your Airplane!)

It wasn't the fault of the airframe at all, in my excitement and nervousness for the maiden I forgot to check control surface direction

3D GRAVEYARD (Post pics of the mangled old bones that used to be your Airplane!)

International shipping would be a pain on a new fuse... I don't mind a rebuild though. As for the expiration date, this was unfortunately a lack of attention to detail on the maiden. I forgot to check the control surface movement. Threw it up, five seconds later it plowed into the ground...
