Wrong Way Rc profile kits now in stock for the build season.

The tinkering today was taking out the Hitec 5985's in the wing to install the new MKS 1230s that I am doing the final testing on... I think they will be released later this year. They are core-less digital MG that weigh 56gm, are rated up to 7.2 to cover A123 power and give 250/.113... Target...

Wrong Way Rc profile kits now in stock for the build season.

Well I had the airplane out today getting ready to fly tomorrow. To fly you put the wing tube in the fuse, put the one wing that has the 1/4-20 plastic bolts glued in on next, hook up one aileron and kill switch light... then second wing which has the battery in it where I hook up the other...

The fuse takes up most of a doorway... The rudder will ad another foot... Measured nose to tip of the rudder on the plans is 77.5 inches.... By the time the engine and prop is mounted it will be very near 80 inches to match the 80.5 inch wingspan.

The fuse is now done... It has been rough sanded and 220 block sanded... Before I cover it I will go over all of the joints and tug on them... plus block sand it one more time... Fuse weight is 2 lbs 10.8 oz Most folks come up at about 2 3/4 pounds so we are in the ballpark.. Next up... the...

I also left the area open for the fuel tank mount... The plans do not show it... it is the choice of the builder (just like the tail wheel area) but I like my fuel tank near the CG. Mine are actually centered about 4 inches forward of the actual CG... which to me... is a great location with...

WrongWayRc 50-60cc GBR (GeeBeeRacer) Build thead

I left the area of the tail wheel open to finish up with a custom fit. I have a very lightweigh... but strong 85cc carbon landing gear to go as an add on to the kit. I mocked it up.. and put in my 1/2 x 3/4 upright just before the end of the mount assembly. In my other 50cc planes I mostly...

Thanks guys. It is a great time of the year to build. Finishing up the fuse today. First I block sanded the latticework that I just added to the top and bottom of the fuse center section. I have decided to go back to wax paper... It is a bit more cumbersome than the clear wrap but the CA glue...

On laminating the outside of the top and bottom of the fuse with 1/8 x 3/4 balsa.... It is needed because the flowing lines are too much for 3/8x3/4 balsa.. (said that) but it is ok to spray them with water and let them sit for 15 minutes if they look like they dont want to bend easy enough for...

Thanks Gary. I went back and re-sized all the pictures and will continue to make them of a size that is big enough to see but not megabyte sized... I know it is all storage space and that costs... So the fuse is 98 percent done, I just need to build out around the tail wheel mount and build an...

So I ran into a problem with the website here tonight. I guess the camera settings were producing pictures that were 3-4mb each... Suddenly I was out of space to upload pictures. I went back and resized the last 4 pictures but before that happened I deleted a bunch from my account not realizing...

Laid in some cross bracing for the ignition mount. After it is covered I will just need to cut a slot to accommodate my velcro strap that will hold the ignition box to the fuse. One strap around the ignition, sticky back on the back of the box and the side of the fuse... Wont go anywhere, will...

Get them all glued in at the top. The rudder post gets cut and notched as well. This is then glued to the back of the center section.

Next cut the sticks to length and glue short ones to center section. Gluing wood flat to a piece gives better strength than if it has any gaps in it so I make sure that the side on the center section is square by sanding the piece in my little miter box. I eyeball the angle for the outside and...

WrongWayRc 50-60cc GBR (GeeBeeRacer) Build thead

I cleaned up excess glue from the fuse center section and then laid it flat again on the clear plastic for outline gluing. First I epoxied the second half of the nose pieces on.

Important here to use the anti rotation pins to line up your holes exactly. I kept the glue slightly away from these holes so my pins will come out. I used weight and clamps to hole it in place. After about 10 minutes I went around and looked to see if all areas are flat. If not, I wicked some...

one final check for flatness. I put a couple small drill holes (to mark it)where the top tube ends up front to cut it later. I will route my ignition power here. Today is pretty cold.. I wanted time to work with gluing the halves together so I used Gorilla Glue. The white foams less and dries...

WrongWayRc 50-60cc GBR (GeeBeeRacer) Build thead

Tomorrow I glue the top half of the fuse center section in. In preparation for that I take my block sander and knock off the top of the fuse tubes. I want the top half to lay flat on the bottom so the glue will attach well and make the I Beam construction final. When done the center...

The servo location is traced out and I run my little drill through the lines so I can turn the piece over and use my dremel and knife to open up the square hole for the servo. So now the 3/8 x 1/2 firewall hardwood back piece and the landing gear block are epoxied in place. A little note...

Here is a mock up of the 3/4 inch hardwood triangle stock that will back up the engine firewall, behind it is the landing gear and in back of that the servo for throttle. You can see in the ply piece above where I have traced out the wing rib root and laid out the servo location. Actually, I...
