    EF Extra 300 104"

Oh man, that's a real bummer. I had the same thing happen to me.., once:) In my case it was the result of cleaning off excess uncured epoxy with alcohol. I inadvertently got the thinned epoxy mixture on several of the hinges pivot and it obviously penetrated into the knuckle gluing it tight. It...

12S power systems ideas and options

Thanks for the update Ken. Another motor I believe there's a good market for would be one that will spool a 22x10 prop to 3000 ~ 3200 watts on 12S. I.e. for the 78" wingspan planes in the 12~13 lb AUW range. You know, for us slow-N-low 3D nuts:cool: ByronC

    RealFlight 6 Models

Hey Dwight, still flying the EF 91? I've been thinking about getting one of those myself, but maybe going with Ken's / Subsonic's 50cc electric motor when it comes out:cool:

    RealFlight 6 Models

Thank you! It is really nice having my favorite Extreme Flight model for Real Flight. Both versions do big sky precision well, but I noticed something a little funny with slow-N-low flight characteristics. It's like there's a lot of drag on the plane and you can really feel it when doing...

12S power systems ideas and options

Yeah, that caught my eye too. But then I'm fluent in Manta, i.e. translation:. I believe Matt meant he should be getting 4800~4900 watts but that something was limiting the max. current to 70A, probably his ESC. Obviously he should be seeing 110A or more. I'm really pumped with the immanent...

12S power systems ideas and options

Great idea Gary. I'm already thinking about a 12S setup for the new EF airframe offerings coming up in 2014. Is the Ken Young 50cc class electric motor going to be part of this thread? Eagerly awaiting more details and specs:)

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

Yeah, the 60" Laser is a must have. I fly mine more than my other planes, and two of those are 30cc electrics. Can't wait for Chris Henson's next Laser EXP offering:) Especially waiting on a 50~60cc version.

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

All good points indeed. And I would add, though not all inclusive by any means, something along these lines: The first step begins with tweaking the airframe's control surface linkage to give only the amount of deflection needed to pull off the most demanding IMAC maneuvers, and no more. I.e...

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

Another item to touch on here for someone with IMAC experience. That being a good basic IMAC plane and radio programming (rates/expos) setup. I.e. most guys I know that first get into learning 3D go with a hardcore hucking setup with extreme maximum throws on everything, and then later on...

Set-up of EP 72 inch extra

Sure did. And for my 3DHS 74" Edge the A60-7S is bolted to the custom CF reinforced eBox the same way the motor would be bolted to its X-bracket. Sorry, I didn't shoot any photos of the mounting other than those posted previously. It was difficult to get a good shot of the rear of the eBox...

Set-up of EP 72 inch extra

On 10S and with a Xoar 21x10, the Hacker A60-7S V2 doesn't pull more than 68 amps., WOT static. A 100 amp. ESC will provide plenty of headroom, and the one I'm using is a 99 amp. Jeti SpinPro Opto. Runs nice and cool.

Set-up of EP 72 inch extra

My RCVR (an HV version) and servos are powered directly (no BEC) by a pair of 2S 1300 mAH LiFe packs, separately plugged into the RCVR through unused servo ports. I used the kit included eBox to mount the A60-7S. To get a tighter spinner to cowl gap, and to save some weight, I left off the...

Thanks for all your work on making the videos. Good to see what the Basic sequence looks like.

Set-up of EP 72 inch extra

That's the same motor I have in my 3DHS 74" Edge, spooling a Xoar 21x10PJN to 2500 watts on 10S, and the servos are HS-7955TG. I think you'll like your setup. Last I heard CC is working on a firmware update for their new Edge line of ESCs' that will enable them to drive 28 pole motors to their...

    60" Laser-EXP

That's where I've got mine too (5S 4000mAH 30C / 529g pack). And my ESC is in the same location as yours. Just barely have to push down ELV to stay level when inverted. 71 flights to date. The Laser flies BIG, in that it is very stable at all attitudes, hovers super nice, and just begs to be...

    60" Laser-EXP

What kind of numbers are you getting with the DM4315-480 on 6s with the 16x8. APC-E or wood (insert brand) prop?

    60" Laser-EXP

My 7245s' at the aileron positions were the same. Ended up having to shave a 'lil off the outside edge of the rubber grommets to get the servos fully seated.

Extreme Flight 60" Laser Build Thread

Being somewhat paranoid after a composite arm came off an aileron servo at flight #17, I refitted the elevator servo with a Hanger-9 1.5" double spline lock aluminum arm cut down to use the first hole at 1.25" out from center, with DuBro 2-56 ball-link and hardware on the servo end of the kit...
