    35CC 3D Plane

Now see, that is why I get on forums like this. I never would have though of that. I know for a fact that the tan diaphram for the the carb on those engines is capable of drawing WAY more fuel than you need. Drawing it a few more inches in a hover should NOT be a big deal. On a gas plane, I...

My DLE35-RA engine alone (no exhaust or ignition) weighs 2lbs, 1.6oz. So the engine alone is 0.4 oz heavier. I wish I had weighed the exhaust and ignition. I think they shaved an ounce off of the exhaust by shortening the exhaust tips and using plastic extension. My exhaust doesn't look...

    35CC 3D Plane

By my claculations, 2.43oz difference. But they are trying to say the 35cc ignition is 1 ounce heavier than the 30cc ignition. I don't buy that. So I'm thinking it's less than 2oz difference. I'm headed out of work now and dropping by my LHS on the way home. I'll let you know what I find.

    35CC 3D Plane

You guys are lifesavers. I called DLE (Hobbico) and posed the question the technician. He was in agreement, something is wrong with the numbers, but he is not sure what. The number in question is the weight of the engine itself. I suspect that 2.06 lbs is correct. The technician does too...

    35CC 3D Plane

I totally agree. A test IS better than a thousand opinions. I did add up the weights from Tower when I started this. Then I went to the DLE website. I tend to believe the original source before I believe a vendor. On the DLE website, they don't give a component weight breakdown like on...

    35CC 3D Plane

I'm going to my LHS tomorrow and get them to weight the engine, ignition and exhaust for me. If it is truly 2.77lbs, I'm going to have to think hard. If it's closer to 2.5lbs, I think I'm sold.

    35CC 3D Plane

The difference is 5.92 ounces according their website. If the difference were 2 ounces I would buy it for sure. I've heard this twice now.

I only have one charger right new and it's an astroflight that is lipo only. I would like to get another one. Maybe if I get some of my beginner planes sold...

166 oz/in with one elevator servo?

    35CC 3D Plane

Life batteries are lower voltage, right? A 2s lipo is nominal 7.4. I think mine go as high as 8.4 fully charged. But that would be sweet if I could get rid of regulators.

More questions... I read up on the Velox months ago when I was first looking at 20cc planes. They suggest one elevator servo in the 20cc configuration. I think I've settled on the DLE30. I'm planning on putting the battery way back in the tail to prevent the need for additional weight. I'm...

    35CC 3D Plane

It came today!!! Man this is a huge plane for 20-30cc. Honestly, will this plane handle a 35-RA or is that just too much? I don't want to lose the ability a harrier like I know this plane is capable of. I also don't want to break gear. I learned to land in a fish bowl, so my landings...

My Velox hit the UPS offIce at 5:05 today (Friday). It will be delivered Monday. Not complaining, just ironic. I have an engine and servos to buy yet. No huge hurry.

7 minute flights... I also have electric delta wings. Want something to fly while my batteries are charging... Besides, love the sound of the gas.

Love that blue, but I bought the red so I could be sure to see it. Thanks for posting. That gives me some great ideas.

    35CC 3D Plane

I was headed in that direction. I'm impressed with the 35 and was originally looking at the AJ Slick, but settle on the Velox. Actually, I have a DLE20 and have been looking at the Velox since last fall. I MIGHT start with that engine.... maybe... very doubtful. I hate rebuilding planes. I...

Also, servos... Has anyone used these servos the Redwing RC sells? I'm all for affordable performance, but they have to be reliable. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b8ibaGXww88

    35CC 3D Plane

According to DLE's website, the 30 is 2.4lbs, the 35 is 2.7lbs. Am I wrong on I that? I'm really going for a plane that will harrier and get into hover easily. I've heard the 20 is a touch weak, but the 30 makes the plane explosive. I was kind of settled on the 30 or something with that...

    35CC 3D Plane

FINALLY!!! I pulled the trigger on a yellow and red Velox. Now it's just a matter of what goes in it. Enterprise, I saw you ripped hinges. Do you think it would be wise to install pin hinges from the git go? I'm hope there are some build threads out there for the 70" Velox. If anyone...

I would be curious to see the layout. I'm hedging toward that configuration.
