    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

Check the throw in both directions and make sure it's equal. Then peg the ailerons hard one way and push on them a little bit; try to push them back toward center and observe how they behave. Peg the ailerons in the other direction and push on them again and compare. More than likely it's...

    60" Laser-EXP

The production Laser will be Yellow instead of Cub Yellow like that prototype. Cub Yellow is incredibly difficult to paint match. Speaking of that prototype, I flew a bunch of packs through it at Nall. Even without any tweaking to the set-up or even checking the throws this thing was easily...

    48" mxs

OK, your setup looks good then. The Sunnysky is a fine motor and the ZTW ESC also works very well. Batteries are the right size. Does the rear of the canopy sit in the notch in the fuselage correctly? If not, then you could probably sand the front of the canopy until everything lines up...

    48" mxs

Thrust line is most likely not the issue. You will need a really bad thrust angle to make the plane misbehave like that, and it would be apparent to the eye. I would imagine the canopy gap is purely cosmetic. There is no reason that should cause any flight issues. Besides, doesn't the canopy...

    60" Extra 300 EXP

I like it just ahead of neutral. No reason to run these planes tailheavy IMO...they 3D great even when nose heavy. The Pro-Tek 15x7 will likely get you about 1400 watts. Not quite as nice as the Xoar 15x8 but plenty.

    78'' Extra

I love the 70 EXP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6QmLWVR7P0 To me, it flies the most like a 35% or 40% airplane of any of the 70 inch stuff out there and it's the most precise. However I like the 78 more and the 60's are more convenient and more violent.

    60" Extra 300 EXP

I have the MKII and unless you have really old, weak batteries I don't see a reason to run the 16x8. The 16x8 gave me about 85 amps and was making everything very hot, and I would occasionally get a squealing and loss of sync on throttle up. When I went to a 15x8 flight time increased, speed...

    60" Extra 300 EXP

15x8 Xoar is the way to go. Another good option is the Aeronaut 15x8 which will push you closer to 1700 watts and get more speed but it's not necessary IMO.

    Twisted Hobbys 32" Crack Laser!

Yes, a 65HB is a fine aileron servo. The Twisted CS40D's work great on the tail, but if you want to go with a name brand, Hitec 5035's are also a great choice.

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

This is something that Gary came up with. He has been wrapping his flex headers first in Blue Monster teflon tape, and then silicone Rescue Tape. Teflon wrapped headers sometimes leak and sometimes don't...I wrapped up the set in my 104 in this fashion so we will see how they hold up.

    Twisted Hobbys 32" Crack Laser!

I have been extremely happy with the stock Twisted Lite set-up. Hone was flying the same set-up in the review video.

Any time. I have broken a lot of headers.

    78'' Extra

Don't use the silicone turbo hose. It will take the heat no problem but gasoline dissolves silicone after a while. Eventually it will fail. Use some teflon tubing and spring clamps....if you measure the OD of the pipe inlet and the header you can find something that will match from...

Unfortunately the Futaba's are discontinued and hard to find now. The 7245's are a fine replacement.

    3DHS 48" Edge vs. EF 48" Edge

It's funny that these are both edges in the same size from two different manufacturers but they are very different airplanes. The 3DHS 48 Edge was really designed to be a first wood airplane after you got proficient with foamies. It's inexpensive, durable, and the wire gear bends without...

    60" Laser-EXP

I've got them in my Extra and I agree. I would give the edge to Futaba S9070's for centering and torque but the Hitecs are faster, easier to install, cheaper, and not discontinued like the Futabas LOL.
