If the antenna is truly broken, meaning it does not make an appropriate connection to the tranciever, the yes, your range would be shortened drastically. The broken antenna should be repaired before the transmitter is used again.

One more thing. Keep the high idle during the whole flight. If it is too high to harrier etc. Then turn it down some. But it won't hurt anything having it on the whole flight... just remember to turn it off on your landing approach or it will be difficult getting the plane to slow down.

It may only be 2200-2500 rpms. Just listen and play with it. Sorry I can't be more precise on that lol

You will get a feel for how high it should be. I just do mine by sound. I haven't actually put a tach to it. I'm guessing it is about 3000 based on the fact I know my dle 35 has a low idle of around 1600-1800 rpms. The high idle should be high enough to hear it and it should be making some...

I just did a little research. The feature you want for the dx8 is in the throttle curve menu. It is addressed at around page 25 in the manual. Good luck!

I think the dx8 has an idle down mix that you just turn on and assign to a switch.

It Is very common to have an idle up switch on a gasser. I would not fly any gas setup in high G manuevers without some way to get the idle speed higher. The fuel pressure changes and there are a lot of different forces at work when you tumble. The rpm will almost certainly drop some. If you...

I'm guessing when you snap to inverted flat spin the throttle stick is at idle? You should consider an idle-up switch so the engine idles closer to 3000 rpms while flying. This will help it tolerate various tumbling moves a lot better.

Haha bipenut you crazy dude :p. I have started my dle 35 by myself but at least I was standing behind the plane.

    Problem starting new DLE111

I'm certainly no expert and have never used one myself. But I know there are kits for when you do that to your car. I think that 8s what they are called but I won't be surprised if it turns out to be wrong lol.

Ah man! Sorry to hear that :( could you drill it out and tap it and add a helicopter coil?

Been working in Reno this week... looking forward to the 5:30 flight home. I hope to do some flying on Saturday. My 72 extra needs a little work where I bounced it off the runway last time... hit the elevator and aileron. I kept flying it last time... might fly it Saturday that way if I don't...

I agree, no need to cut it. One thing I would recommend though is to make sure you have done something to address the fact that fuel/oil will be getting on that firewall and surrounding areas. You should take steps to fuel-proof it with thinned epoxy, fiberglass cloth with z-poxy is wonderful...

Ditch the bullets my friend. You are running soooo much current. A solder joint will be much better and more reliable.

Bushwacker it sounds like you have a loose connection between the esc and the motor. If they are solder joints you should do them again. If you are using bullets I would recommend changing them out for direct solder connections.

Problem with 30cc Sbach sugestions please

Any plane can snap out of a turn if it is too tight. You can stall the wing at any speed by changing the angle of attack. Are we sure this is not the issue? I think a video would really help.

Discussion Benches and Shop Setups & Storage for Model Aircraft

Yea, my goal was to make it cheap and fast. I achieved both of those. My total out of pocket for wood was less than $50. I had the finishing materials on hand already so not sure how much that cost.

I don't have a link to a resolution discussion but we can have one here. My understanding is that resolution is how many points your radio can recognize in your stick movements. The servo also has limited resolution. Think of it like a TV screen because I think the parralel works. A small...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

If you are using any of the newer radios you should be able to extend your end points to about 150%. Doing so should give you the throw you want as well as give you access to max resolution. You should have them at around 120% minimum or you are losing servo torque and should go to a shorter...
