    Ignition - off topic

I had posted some questions on this forum about building a Velox. There was a lot of discussion about engine selection... Somewhere in the thread(s) there was some discussion about replacement ignitions. I have a Brison 2.4 in a Cap232 that I am struggling with. I've had ignition trouble...

    35CC 3D Plane

Between all of the baseball games I finally got the 35cc Velox fully assembled, balance and running. That 35 is impressive.

This is what I ended up with for a switch. It's one of the two toward the bottom of this page It's just a simple 10amp switch. http://electrodynam.com/rc/usw/index.shtml The guy that designs and manufactures these is a member of the club I belong to. He holds a masters degree in...

In their contact info, it was just funny the way they stated it. If you're counting on an immediate call back... this ain't the place . I'm debating still. There is a local place, electrodynamics, that sells 10amp switches. I'm sure that would be sufficient. I do like the Badger though. I...

Check contact information on their web page. Don't count on is getting back to you in the same week... at least they're honest.

Wire gauge on Fromeco switches? I went out and looked at the Badger switch. They want a hefty up charge for Deans connectors. Do you get the same gauge wire n the JR connectors as the Deans?

Something to think about. If you place you ignition battery too close to your receiver (Horizon Hobby claim no closer that 12") the radio frequency from the battery will significantly shorten the range of your radio. I experienced this first hand on a build last year. I did a distance check...

It's functionally the same as an opto kill switch and a BEC together. It's just integrated into one unit. My flying buddy swears by the other setup. I have opto switch, the BEC and capacitors. I'm still debating what to do.

I'm not sure I care about redundant batteries. I just see a 5 amp switch as problem waiting to happen. They eventually wear out. It look like these fromeco switches are pretty durable.

So if I am reading you right, I could use one switch (Badger). Then after the switch, use a regulator to the ignition with an opto kill switch and run straight voltage to the receiver.

I looked at that wolverine. I want to regulate my ignition, but not my servos. Will that switch allow what I want to do?

I have everything in the plane but batteries switches and the associated wiring. I have 1 4500mah 2s battery sitting on the tail. Im still debating what lipo configuration to use. In the past I have run two regulator off of one battery. I've heard the ignition last longer on lower...

I'm going to leave the engine as-is. I've barely had the time to put this plane together. I'm going to have limited time to fly it this year. I have to finish it. I bought a black plastic 3" Great Planes spinner. Just can't finish it without a spinner. I'll be balancing soon.

You best break-in will always be on a freshly honed cylinder. So either I'm doing like you did or probably forget it. I had not heard of the reed valve thing. Do you have any info?
