Thanks. Good to be back. Yes the pants and landing gear are pretty sturdy and fairly light weight. The wheel pant halves fit was a bit off and visual seams can be seen because of it. Was going to fill and repaint but decided why add weight? It seems to be turning out to be a good looking foamy with my hack sticker job and bling rim wheels . BTW the hack sticker job is a result of me hosing the main cowl sticker! .

Well got the wings built and hinged on the Sportster. Glued a 3/16 thick rib edge to the end. This will be used to sand the wing end flush to the fuselage. Well be getting very close to all the wood work to be done. Just have do a final sanding before the covering starts.

Tru-Turn 2.75" "Turbo Cool" electric. Very light weight and it does pull air and pushes it at the motor. Back plate has special slotting acting like a turbine fan.

I have a plastic one that is very similar but I think it is warped or something. Maybe I'll give one of the turbo coolz a try. Thanks

With the completion of the Jtec Pitts, I took a short break this afternoon to tidy things up a bit. Then back to the Behemoth Yak engine swap. I have all the major work and refitting of the firewall done. I will have to cut "filler" pieces that go between the motor box sides and the firewall sides. Because the motor box is doubled and the inside doubler has "lightening" holes in it, The exact cut off area exposed the lightening holes and I will need to fill those in order to get a "good" tight fit with the firewall. That should only take me about an hour tomorrow. Then it is on to mixing some epoxy then setting the firewall in place. The holes on the sides of the motor box have been measured and marked. Once the firewall is in good and solid with the epoxy cured, I will re-drill the new bolt holes for the aluminum angle braces inside the motor box. If weather permits, I want to maiden the Pitts tomorrow. But, if the weather tomorrow is like today was, I will be just as content working on the engine swap on the Yak.
