As much as I love growing season, I so hate cutting grass. Cut for the first time this season after work today. It CUT into my shop time! :confused??:
Come to canada we are still shovelling snow and still haven got a plane ready to fly jet. Would gladly cut grass right now.

Well got the turtle deck on and it went well I have been concerned about it for a while because this can always go wrong and be left with gaps that are hard to fill and even harder to sand smooth because of the angles, you always sand were you do not want to.

Well the turtle deck is not going too well on the Viper ST. If you look at the pictures the cowl which is fitting properly all around the sides and the bottom which has its position is dictated by the cowl ring and screws. The plywood half ring is 1/16 above the cowl. Now if look at the turtle deck which is skinned with 1/16 balsa is at the corners more than 1/8 above the front plywood ring. That is difficult to fix. And the other picture shows the rear section of the turtle deck it about 3/16 pulled in on both sides. Pushed on the top to try and spread it but man I was afraid it would snap in half if I pushed so hard. If any one has any suggestions to solve it would be appreciated. Thinking of maybe trying to cut 1/8 of the front and tapering to zero at the other end. Which is difficult to do and keep everything square and straight. @ericrs do you have your turtle deck mounted.

I was driving out to the field last Thursday when all of a sudden loud rattling from under the hood. It's snowing here today so a perfect day to repair the fan shroud on my plane hauler. You just don't run down to O'reilly and get a new one. It's a '78 Ford F250!
