look very nice good work.

I am almost at the same point now.

Do you know the color already?

I'm going with light grey on the underside and camo with Olive drab camouflage. and cleared over the the plane after decals applied. I'm also doing to do detail work around the nose and add some detail to the whole plane with brush and airbrush. before clearing. :flyer:

p-40 hung.jpg

I had to move cars and all my model stuff to warehouse on high ground and hung planes from cieling in case we flooded. Didnt want to lose everything like I did in Ike in 08. as of now didnt get any water under house so it will take a few days to get everything back over.:pompom: http://www.3drcforums.com/images/smilies/smiley-happy080.gif

Glad you are safe from floods Charles. I can't believe how much rain the middle part of the country has had! Not too much has fallen here in Nevada although we did enjoy a very long and mild spring. 109 degrees yesterday though

P-40 landing gear pod.jpgStarted work again and ran into a snag with the landing gear pods. The used the crapy plastic stuff like the cowling and put in two right sides so instead of trying to get a left side I'm just going to fabricate a pair out of balsa and aluminum which I think will work better anyway.P-40 land gear pod 2.jpg

I used a small 4 oz coke can for the aluminum.

After much thought and looking at the aluminum fairings I really didn't like them and didn't think they looked authentic so did away with them today and planked the landing gear in and will smooth and fill to look authentic and will add other features with filler The only downside is I wont be able to repair gear with cutting open the gear pods. I also installed the flaps.20150708_173913_resized.jpg20150708_173909_resized_1.jpg20150708_173904_resized.jpg20150708_173916_resized.jpg
