Sweet afternoon. Modified my wheel pants to be way hella lighter, flies rock solid now. Never flown an airplane that locks into knife edge like this.

I had an hour to burn between jobs today and had the t-28 in the car so I thought "I'm going out flying"!

I got to the field and it was perfect. Nobody there and a nice little 15mph breeze gusting past 20 blowing right to left at a 45 degree angle to the runway, (might explain why nobody was there). But i've never been a overly cautious and I'd driven all the way (about 10 minutes). Besides it was just the t-28 foamy.

I flew for about an hour just practicing trying to slip down the runway and doing touch and goes. It was great fun! A couple guys showed up but no one else pull a plane out to come play. Next time ill have the heavy metal with me hopefully. Anyway, just checking in to share the fun. BTW, you can glide a t-28 a long time power off when the wind is blowing like stink.:victorious:

New canister mounted, batteries re-positioned for balance and charged, everything checked out, engine ran up with new canister, (gained 250 rpm) She ought to "wail".... I'm taking the VVRC Slick 540 tomorrow morning,... "I'm going out flying".

A little stiff breeze never hurt anyone right? Just "hones" your skills.

Just installed White Rose Engineering, http://whiteroseeng.com tires on the Edge and had to see how they worked and looked. I have to say that they look AWESOME and perform like no other wheel I have ever had! I have had their tail wheel assy on the plane since it has been in the air and love it also. Well made and looks good too!

Had a visitor that wanted a ride until I fired it up.

Funny how you happened to "Find a little time between jobs"! :D

I can't tell you how many times I have stopped at the field (between jobs!), only to find a gaggle of guys sitting there NOT flying because it is, "too windy". I then proceed to pull out whatever little foamy I might have in the car and burn a couple of batteries ending with, "Too windy? REALLY?"

LOL! Good times, indeed!

I never used to think about going out to the field in between jobs. Now I'm thinking about squeezing in work between flights!
