SegevDesign ARTiculate freestyle biplane - design by Ido "DoDo" Segev

wait, this is the first I've heard it was a composite, are the wings foam with fiberglass shells?

The top half of the fuse is composite. The rest are built up with lots of carbon rods, carbon/ply lamination. If you look at the engineering, there's a lot of work that's gone into it to make it lightweight and strong. It is one of the best flying 3D planes on the market today. I struggle with very high alpha harriers but with this plane, it's almost too easy.

That's awesome to hear! Sounds like a real winner!

It's certainly a nice flying plane. With 4 ailerons, roll rate is insane. The fuse is almost profile like so knife edge requires very little rudder. Also I'm able to lower the bottom aileron to 35deg and raise the top ailerons 12deg for braking. Slows down and land like a foam glider.

That's a really cool mix! What equipment did you build yours with?

21kg titanium gear powerhd servos all round. No regs just high voltage on 2s lipos. DLA32 with jtec wrap around pitt muffler. xoar 19x8 prop. 330ml fiji water fuel tank.

There's 3 ARTiculates in our local field including mine. The other is OS33 and the third is 10S dualsky electric

I want one, but I will buy one the day I can get a new one for $599.00 or less.

You buy DA motors right? Because they have the best name in the biz for overall performance, quality, and service... you don't mind paying a premium for what you get. Think about Ido's planes the same way, and the price might be easier to digest. :)

It certainly is a nice looking plane for sure. Great to hear all the modern composites used for the plane. Can you snap a pic of the inside with the canopy off along with all the internals showing the inside of the fuse? I would love to see that.
