I was wondering how you mounted them? What wood and thickness? Thanks

They came from JTEC with 2 1/4 by inch by inch ply blocks with slots lasered in them for the horns, lemme see if I can grab a pic.

If ya feel like it take a look on FG at my thread, sorry guys, lol. I have a bunch of posts on jerry haileys jtec build log also. As for the dubro hinges install I recommend looking at dwdixons thread. Pretty complete run down on the how to there.

Made a reverse template of the block , taped to the sheeting and carved out the foam and balsa with a router for depth, then a dremmel for shape and a hot wire to clean it all up nice, glued with gorilla and no water, dont forget to tape or 1/32" balsa on bottom of blocks before gluing so it doesn't foam up through the slots for the horn.then sand flush with sheeting and poke thru the balsa bottom to glue the horn in after covering, try to keep the horn block as close to or butting up to LE/TE stock as possible for strength. Hope this helps.

When I get to the shop ill see if I have some left to send a pic. Use 2 blocks epoxied together, vaseline on the horn stock to make sure they are aligned when gluing together so epoxy wont stick... ask me how I learned that one lol.

I guess I need to fabricate something because my kit didn't come with anything like that for the control horns.

Im guessing zero instructions too, hit up terry [MENTION=110]Terryscustom[/MENTION] , he has a pretty slick way of setting those, you sandwich materials and drop it in one piece.

Thanks again I will contact him. Yes you are right no directions to speak of just a few lines of German. I put it through google translate and it made more sense in German. Lol. I'm not complaining though I love the kit.

Neatest trick in the book ever... I cannot describe how smooth the balsa is after a liberal coat of this stuff , let dry overnight and hit lightly with 400 grit paper. No picture does it justice. An absolute recommendation for pre covering sanding... WOW.
