3D Fibertech Hyperlite Slick 540 Build Thread

I'm not really a 3D flyer, but I'm going to try and learn some this year with this plane. I'm going to split mine because of the ease of setting up the dual servos without them fighting each other or binding. I bought the Viper and it looks like a very nice kit, I'm looking forward to building it.

This plane will probably be a good one to learn 3D on with such good wing loading.

Spats. It would be a good time do the split ailerons even if you don't set up flaps. It makes setup a breeze and if you decide you want to try flaps in the future, you are all ready to go. Doesn't hurt anything to do it right now.

True, with the super crazy light wing loading of the slick the flaps are nearly useless compared to a normally wing loaded plane like the Viper.

Got everything out of the bags and it all looks great.

Not a whole lot of progress to report, other than I went and picked up my trailer this morning.

Wow that aluminum trailer is beautiful. You will enjoy hauling those giant scale planes in that rig, the paint scheme is beautiful, I like it very much.

I got the leading edges and trailing edges glued on the stab/elevators and fin/rudder. I'm done teaching for the rest of the year until this fall, so now I will have more time to work on my build.

Looking good! I have not touched mine in almost three weeks. Been flying 3 days a week and went to Yuma to fly in the air show for the weekend. Hopefully this week I will start making the sanding dust fly.

I don't blame you for not working on it, since you can fly 3 days a week.

I got some time today to get some work done on mine. I finished up the canopy and hatch. It all came together very nice and fits up near perfect. I wish ARF's came with the canopy fitting so well.

Started getting to servo wires ready to pull threw the fuse. Tail is complete. Wings are sheeted and I will cut the ailerons tomorrow.
