The finished Freestyle weighs 18 lbs 5 oz. RTF. I think with a Fourtitude tank, Lighter Battery, and a CF Spinner it could be built under 18 lbs.

It looks even better in person than it does in the pictures.

I test flew it Tuesday, it was a windy 15-20 mph day but the Freestyle did just fine. The DA-60 provided plenty of power and the Jtec pitts is really quiet. The wind was so gusty that it was really difficult to get a feel for how the plane flies precision manuevers. It wasn't to windy to tell that it's a 3D beast, Pop Tops, Crankshafts, Rolling Harriers, Tumbles were all a blur.

Wednesdays weather was absolutely perfect; 80 degrees, no wind, and not a cloud in the sky. I was able to put 5 flights on the Freestyle this morning. It was a really fun day, I really like how this plane flies.

Here's what I learned today; it flies very light and is really forgiving which reminds me of my 89" Slick. It has super powerfull ailerons and an insane roll rate which reminds me of my Extreme Flight 91" Extra. Tumbling manuevers are a blur which reminds me of my 87" Extra SHP. The elevator and rudder are crazy powerful which reminds me of my 92" Edge. And here's where the Freestyle really surprised me, it flies precision manuevers like my 89" Hangar 9 Carden Edition Extra 300 which is a huge compliment to the Freestyle. I started out yesterday with to much elevator and rudder throw on low rates and I wasn't that impressed with how the plane flew precision manuevers, but it was so windy that I really couldn't get a good feel for it. Today in perfect conditions it was apparent pretty quickly that I had way to much throw on low rates (I didn't use the settings that the manual called for and I should have.) After dialing back the rates I was very happy with how the Freestyle flew precision manuevers. I flew through the Sportsman and Intermediate Pattern Sequence and the Sportsman IMAC sequence and the Freestyle flew through them really well. Overall it is a fantastic 3D plane that also does a really good job of flying precision which makes for a nice combination.

Here's a few things that I did notice today. It has very large and powerfull ailerons (the wings remind me of a 33% planes wings) I noticed that I was either getting blowback or losing mechanical advantage because on high rates the faster it went the slower the rolls were. I'm using MKS HV777 servos with 1.5" SWB arms and A123 batteries. I had the ball link connected to the servo arm on the outer most location (1.5".) I moved the ball link in to the 1.25" location and the roll rate at full throttle was much faster and it still has lots of aileron authority during high alpha manuevers. The rudder is much more powerfull than it looks, it looks average size but provides tons of rudder authority. It will do really nice looking Knife Edge loops. The elevators are also very effective, it does really tight waterfalls and knife edge spins. It does have a very slight tuck to the landing gear in knife edge, it was so little that I probably won't bother with mixing it out.

I love the color scheme it is really easy to see. Another thing about the Freestyle that I noticed yesterday and again today is that it is one of the easiest planes to land that I have ever flown. Yesterday the wind was really blowing and it was rock steady on final, today there wasn't any wind and it landed the same way. Line it up, pull the throttle back to about 1/4 and she just about lands herself. I think that you could train someone on this plane. I really enjoyed flying the 30cc Freestyle and the 60cc version flies even better.

Today's weather was again perfect, I was able to put some more flights on the Freestyle. This was the third day in a row that I was able to fly it. I have 12 flights on it now and it is holding up great, I am really enjoying it.

For the 4th day in a row I was able to fly the Freestyle. The weather wasn't perfect but it was OK. Kinda cloudy and windy. I have 16 flights on the Freestyle now and I'm loving it. Sugar Shane is working hard trying to talk me out of it. Here's some pictures from today, Thanks Shane for taking them.
