Well crud I haven't even figured out 3D and all if sudden we have Giant Scale 4D action happening! Take a special look at around 5 sec mark. The whole dang prop moves left to right as well as being variable pitch!

I wonder if that prop setup can handle the gyroscopic forces of 3D flying. The second video shows the mechanics and it looks pretty stout. That Sukhoi is sweet!

Ya pretty crazy. I can't imagine the G Forces on the airframe as well. I could just someone flying and then reversing the pitch causing the airframe to crumple up like an accordion! Yicks

that motor/rotor set up at the beginning of the second video looked pretty wicked. i've got some heli parts from a Trex 450 i could donate towards the cause. it wouldn't propel a giant scale of course, but it might work in a 48" airframe…maybe. the way they can "back up' on those maneuvers is really cool.

That looks really cool.

Anyone know what kind of prop set up he uses?

Is it just a heli head mounted to a motor?
