The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Yeah well this one was just me going out on a whim. Was at the LHS picking up some props for some of my profiles and a new motor on my blade nano qx. Saw it sitting there and said what the hell. Shop owner is a member of my club and he cut me a good deal on everything.

So I picked up a new toy yesterday. Estes Proto X. Fun little quad to fly but I saw some problems all with the controller. First I don't have big hands but I don't have small hands either and this thing is just to small to hold comfortably especially when I'm a stick pincher not thumb flyer...

    Hucking in the Yard

Just some of my more recent flying videos. To think this time last year I could barely hover a plane for more than about 5 seconds. If you look closely at the stix27 video you can see where that plane has been repaired at least 3 or 4 times now. Never again will I cover a plane in tissue paper...

Yup seem down the middle of the edges is what I do. 240 should be plenty. Like I said I use 220 but that is mainly because I don't have the patience to keep going further than that.

Who Will Be The First Big Winner At The 2015 Toledo Show?!?!

If confusion is good then I must be the big winner as the only time I'm not confused is when I'm at work. Electricity is the one thing I understand.

Who Will Be The First Big Winner At The 2015 Toledo Show?!?!

400 grit would be fine. I actually only ever sand down to 220 grit but it's all up to the builders discretion as to how far to sand it. Not sure there is any way to avoid having seems in the covering just a nature of the beast. It's easy to make seems disappear though. Just take your time and...

My 40 size bird had 3/8" cap strips so 1/2" wide on yours should be fine.

Yup they add tremendous strentgh and once you throw some covering on it it will be even stronger.
