The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Need to get back down in my shop and keep tidying it up before someone else puts more junk down there  Thinking about re-doing my shelving system, as in removing them from their current location and fitting them elsewhere since they are placed ontop of a counter top, occupying valuable...

Aerobeez 70″ Slick PRO Step By Step Build Guide

Not sure if I mentioned this earlier but it's a tip I like to use when I have to make clean cutouts for servos or cables, and it's a method I used on the Slick throughout the build. It's why my Slick looks so slick ;) First, you need to have an adjustable soldering iron, I have a Hakko FX888D...

    Parallel Charging Pros and Cons

Yes I've had my iCharger long before I worked for Hitec. It's a reliable charger, don't see the need to get rid of it right now. I've seen both fail. When stuff comes from China, anything can happen. I wonder what kind of current figures my power supplies would draw if I were to run my...

    Servo problem

Yes. When an ESC loses sync with the motor, it can make all kinds of noises. The loud knocking noise could be the ESC sending a signal to the motor just a fraction of a second before the motor gets to the right point so it actually forces the motor to slow for a split second. Double checking...

Would definitely send both in for inspection then.

    Servo problem

Yes, as I said the ESC may be losing sync, and it may be getting more difficult to keep up as the battery voltage lowers. What propeller are you using? My only other suggestion would be to send both the motor and ESC into their respective manufacturers for inspection.

Make sure your flux capacitor is also refilled to the top with prefamulated amulite otherwise you'll never get that thing to make more than 1.21Gw.

    Aerobeez Slick 70 PRO

Haven't flown the 3DHS Slick (or any 3DHS airplane ever) so I can't comment, but here is what I think of this airplane: My first impressions with this airplane is that it was an awesome sport flying airplane. It would do awesome aerobatics on low rates and track straight as an arrow no matter...

    Parallel Charging Pros and Cons

Well the cost could be justified depending on the gear you buy, cause when you have to buy a high powered charger, AC power supply, and a generator, $1000 worth of batteries is pretty cheap!:banghead: I have a 650 watt generator I take to the field that I got pretty inexpensively...

    Servo problem

What do the ESC's data logs say? Post them up if you can. Knocking in flight indicates that the ESC might be losing sync for a split second. I tend to veer away from larger Castle ESC's and stick with Jeti.

Aerobeez 70″ Slick PRO Step By Step Build Guide

Final weigh in... 773 grams! So it's under TP's weight rating. Not sure what my Zippy packs weigh, will have to pull them out tomorrow and check. The cost to me is justified due to their performance alone. Never have I heard from any of my friends that they perform as good or at average to...
