The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

That's the plan, just need to fit the canopy properly, fit the control horns to the rudder, then cut and baffle the cowl and she'll be ready to go. Come to think of it I should have glued the rear supporting plate to the canopy frame and matched it to the fuselage before gluing and cutting the...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I feel like I level'd up tonight with my repair abilities. Got the new canopy plastic installed onto its frame- it's not totally perfect and I may have to trim the rear flush with the fuselage but this will work perfectly, she's not a beauty queen anyways. Onto the cowl tomorrow!

Got my 107 yak parts today, lot sooner than I was expecting!!!! Rudder was first up, Tony supplies just a bare rudder that's covered, so I had to match the trim with the supplied covering. I'd say it turned out pretty good, except the rudder is just a hair larger than the old one and that threw...

    New Aerobeez 48" Mini Banshee!!

My best guess is it was around 55 amps or so, the 40 amp ESC was cutting back the throttle most of the time. But it sure pulled awesome :D I have a new motor coming for the airplane, a 3542-1000 which most are using with 13x6.5 or 12x8 props and pulling about 42 amps WOT static...

    Aerobeez 45% Extra 300 assembly

Installed the 7980's in my stabs today. I think 2 should be sufficient for how I fly, I've watched @Terryscustom fly his 40'cent and they seem to be fine with one servo on each elevator. If not then I'll just have to get a couple more servos, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I will get some as soon as I can. The motor I'm using has gobs of pull but it's too much current for my 40 amp ESC (probably 55 amps of current), naturally I ordered a new motor instead of changing the ESC :oblong: It'll give more flight time anyways ;)

    New Aerobeez 48" Mini Banshee!!

Doubtfull it will draw that kind of current in a 12x6. The Aerobeez team used the same motor in their 48" Extra with 3S. Should be fine.

    New Aerobeez 48" Mini Banshee!!

New stuff to replace the old fried stuff, so a little deviation once more. This should be the last of the deviations.

    Aerobeez 45% Extra 300 assembly

Decided that I should go with 7980's on the elevators and rudder and use 7950's on the ailerons to save on some cost. Should be able to setup the elevators this weekend since I have some 2" 24t SWB arms already.
