Question? What's good in cheap servos these days?

Bart you should've gone with the HS-1005SGT for all surfaces. I'm betting you'd make a lot of people LOL with that decision. $100 airplane, $1800 in servos

Seen some guys up for several hours with very light winds on a slope.

Technique, combined with some strength. The idea is to turn yourself into a rubber band and unwind at just the right moment to throw it forward- pitching up comes from a mix. The good news is one good throw yields a good flight time, and some of the local guys here get quite a long flight time...

It was a pretty frosty 75 degrees this weekend here in SoCal. I almost had to put on a sweater to fly :oblong::oblong:

Yep, Chrysler LA 5.2 Magnum. The repair kit came from Hughes, and they were very specific on how you assemble their components and they expressly stated that any deviations will cause failure. They were also very specific on not using any kind of RTV or sealer with their gasket and what I'm...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

One of the many reasons I purchase Thunder Power packs. They put whatever connector on it that I so choose. Deans are the only plug I'll ever run, unless the current figures exceed 60 amps and then I bump up to EC5 :oblong:

So let me tell you guys about my Sunday flying excursion....:rolleyes::rolleyes: Started out as a normal, clear, cold morning. Decided to go fly since Saturday the field was rained out. The photo that was sent out on Sunday morning showed a lack of water across our road surface...

Had to do a repair to the bottom of the intake on my Jeep. Also did valve cover gaskets at the same time since I was already in there. Glad half of the valve cover bolts weren't finger tight :oblong: Last thing to do now is fuel pump. I might just pick up a new airplane for Christmas so I...

Rubber mallet was for other things, the spindle was hammered off with a 3lb sledge.

Actually there ain't a lick of rust on the entire Jeep, that's all dirt. Yep, rear disks ('96 Grand Cherokee).

I am SO ready to get back to working on something not made of metal  Did the driver and passenger side ball joints on my Jeep, the passenger side lower was being a bear and not wanting to press in straight. That's one obstacle out of the way o_O

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Needed a line disconnect kit to work on my Jeep, was surprised this kit was only $20 on Amazon :oblong: Waiting on my intake repair kit now, then it'll be onto the fuel pump :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Yippee! What the postman brought

FYI, the 500 Duo has 2 cooling fans. It is literally 2 chargers built into one case.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

It's one of about 15, 2 port chargers I now have :oblong::oblong: I've got 2, X2 400 chargers and 2, X2 700 chargers of ours, so this one lands right in the middle. I still like the simplicity of my Hitec chargers, but they don't do 8S like this one does (not like I need 8S capability, or 10S...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

My GT500 DUO showed up yesterday. Works fantastic, will have to put together some kind of charge case to mount it in with my 24v 69a power supply. I'm not much one for parallel boards and usually recommend against using them but the ones FMA has for these chargers seem to be smarter than the...

    Revoletrix GT500

I slapped down for the duo unit, should make a nice addition to my charger inventory. I have a Multiplex charger that is basically a direct comparison that I wanted to compare to, with the MPX unit having a slightly more in depth user interface, and only being 7s capable.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I can't, so I bought the dual 500w model. Probably the last thing I need since I have an assortment of 500w+ chargers, but the $125 price tag was difficult to resist.....

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Did a little mod to the FunCub last night. Over the weekend I noticed the landing gear was being a little too flexible which was causing the prop to drag in the soft sand on short landings. Had a spare landing gear wire and mounting block, bent and cut the wire to shape then used some industrial...
