IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Yes!! You got it!!
Well, maybe

ok, no Maiden today. Just communicated with a good friend, and we feel it would be nuts of me, to go out in the heat, 20 miles away from nearest hospital. Lets wait one week or so, make sure I do not collapse in the middle of flying the airplane!

Cam, glad you are on the mend. Plane looks great and I think your friend is right about postponing the maiden. With that single place canopy it sure makes it look like it has a really long nose :)

I just turned her on, and she was humming. Very quiet.
I removed the canopy, and filled both tanks all the way, then brought her to 6500 RPM, and the main tank did not collapse. My felt clunk in the back up tank is not restricting fuel flow to the main tank. But, If I use the fuel station to withdraw the fuel, it does collapse, and this is purely based on the flow rate.

I appreciate Wayne for bringing this to my attention.

I just checked the CG, and based off the center of the wing tube, the airplane is nose heavy by 0.50 pounds.
I will leave it like this til after the maiden.

I will cross reference Tom's CG on his, to see how close I am to his.

I believe, the measurement i made is 230 mm behind the center of the main wheels, which is about the center of the wing tube.

Play this hospital stay for just a little longer...put your order in for a nice home-cooked dinner, kick back and enjoy the day with your feet propped up, the TV remote in one hand, and a cool drink in the other. Plenty of flying season left to enjoy!

Yes, good idea! TO make sure that it there 2nd felt cluck is not increasing the resistance to flow. I also need to change the fitting on the top of the main tank, as the fuel line is getting kinked, with the canopy on. I am glad I caught this! Now to find those 90 degree fittings.
Cam did you ever find a source for the 90 degree fittings? I'm building my own tanks for a DA 200 much like yours and was wondering if you found any. Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff, yes, taildragger RC has them, but, are you using Fiji tanks?
If so, then place the fitting not on top but on the angled side, which goes from the bottle side to the bottle top. This way, it will be at an angle. OR you can use the 90 degree angled fittings.
