Scale Giant Scale P-51 Mustang Plans??

Defender of the Noob!
Hey guys,

Rather than continuing to clog up Red Raider's build thread talking about the different Mustang plans sets I thought I'd post a new thread to gather up and discuss what the options are.

I'm looking for P-51B plans but let's tally up everything that's out there for big Mustang builds.

Bates plans are very well regarded. I would just blow up his plans, 89"doesn't belong on this website. :)

Upsizing the Bates plans is a good idea. I emailed him to see what he would charge to print the plans with 102" wingspan.

I'm sorry to disrespect you guys with an 89" set of plans.

I emailed Jerry Bates about larger size Mustang plans and he pointed out that they are offered as a 112", 1/4 scale version which isn't listed in the site catalog but is in the downloadable current version of the catalog. For $78 shipped it seems like a great deal and I'll be ordering a set tonight. Not sure when this little lady might finally fly but let's get the plans here and see how far I can get with the stacks of wood I already have here.

So glad to see you active around here again bart. Can’t wait to see this bird come togheter.

Thanks Chris, it's appreciated. You've got your hands full lately, I really hope it's all going great with the baby.

As for the big Mustang, the plans should be here this week and after giving them a good look and double checking my sanity we'll start making parts. I probably won't ever finish it (I'm telling myself that so I won't get crazy over it) but I'm going to see what it's like to make the kit first. ;)
