Hangar 9 60cc Corsair Build

Hey,

Contrary to what some people think, there is nothing wrong with Slimer's. Especially Ultrasports. I've had three 60 size kit built and a kit built 120 size. All AWESOME flying airplanes. :big_yes:

I haven't as much as touched any of my airplane projects all year. I haven't even flown this year.
Looking forward to some more updates on your Corsair. . . . . :yesss:

I have a 60 size kit to build too! Lol

The little 46 sure looks good though!

You are right. That little 46 does look very nice. I wish they would have brought the 60 size ARF back out. I'd love to have another one. I know kits are available, but given my luck, it would take me two years to build it. . . . . :(

We better change the subject back to your Corsair before we get in trouble. . . . .

Guys, I'm thinking about selling off this project, I'm really interested in getting a jet and the only way I could pay for it would be to sell off the Corsair. No further work has been done other than what I have shown. The engine has been mounted but never seen fuel. If anyone is interested shoot me a pm. I'm in northern CA and I don't want to ship but would be willing to drive a reasonable distance.

I like what you have "rockin" the front of that ultra sport. Think I know what to put my DZ70 in now. Retracts on it ?

Thanks! Yes it comes with mechanical retracts that work great. The DZ70 will fit like it was made for that engine. Mount the engine all the way at the end of the supplied motor mount and you're good to go. I'm using the stock tank as well and knock on wood, so far it has worked fine. I made my own aileron pushrods and replaced the clevises with Dubro clevises. I also replaced the Phillips screws for the control horns with 2-56 socket heads, WAY easier to screw in. I had to add about 1.75oz tail weight though.. good luck if you get it, it flies great!

Hey Kelly,

If you plan on putting you DZ70 in your 60 size kit, you'd better do anything you can to build it light. Otherwise you may wish you had a YS 91 bolted to the engine mount.

I think he's talking about the .46 size ARF I have. I mentioned I also have the .60 size kit but my YS80 is in the .46.

I figured it was a 46 sized US. Saw it at tower. How you liking that FZ80? what prop? When I had the DZ 70 going in a 46 size Kaos ARF I was turning a 15x7 MAS and performance was unreal! Just a note....DZ 70 uses a recip pump so tank pressure is not an issue.

Hey David thanks. The 46 is what I too was thinking of. Way back when we had a fella running an OS 108 on his US 60 and it was awesome.

I'm running a 13x8 apc prop, it runs great, I'm only running 20/20 fuel, next time I'll grab some 30% heli if I want to go faster. Just like all my YS engines, it took about a gallon to get it broken in and it really came alive. I forgot about the DZ not running the pressurized system. It's not as fast as the World Models mustang with the 1.15 but it's still good and fast and fun to fly.
