I do not think it is repairable. If some has plans for a 40% toc yak 54 I have a good rudder and stab for it.

Oh my gosh. It hasn't been a good couple of days for Yaks has it? I am really sorry for your loss. I truly can feel your pain. Mine, not near as bad, but bad enough all the same. Sorry everyone. I kind of left you all hanging. But I don't handle a broken heart so well. You'd think all these years would have taught me how to cope. Not so much. The first flight of the Behemoth Yak yesterday was good. Took it easy to get the feel of her again. Second flight one minute in, the new crankshaft broke in two and the 212 wound down like a top spinning to a stop. Not enough altitude was my worst enemy. I really tried to get her back, but just could not save her.

The Yak will not be rebuilt.
I've never had a plane I've put so much effort, time, money and love into like the Behemoth Yak. It's time she rested in piece. Or in this case...pieces.

We all know it gonna happen one day. Atleast for yours you know the cause. Although it may be tough to swallow you have a define answer as to the reason. I would much rather have I screwed up or piss poor motor for an excuse as to why. I have checked everything I can of mine and still no reason for it lock out like it did. For sure mine will not be rebuilt but I have plans to own many more to come. Hopefully with any luck I will figure out why this one went in and stop it from happening again.

Damn that Sucks for both of you. Stang it looks like the wings on yours are still in one piece so they could always be held on to as somewhere down the line someone will need a set.

Man I do not know what to say. You really put your heart and soul into that plane and it looked fantastic. I believe we all understand that you needed some time to recover from this one. As you mentioned that the engine let go and that the crankshaft snapped in half, wow that is a surprise especially knowing that that one was a brand new one. I am sure that is going to be looked into. Hope you all the best and put to one side for a while and then decide what to do, sorry to see that happen. All best.

Well I had a blast this weekend. Flew my Edge on Saturday and Sunday, finally getting the thing dial'd into where I want it. The DA120 is ridiculously overpowered for the airplane and the Falcon 28x9.5 prop pulls AWESOME!!

I think I'm going to ditch the Pulse 2550 packs in favor of some Pulse 5000 packs. It's not for run time, it's just for more weight, the airplane is too light for how I like. Very thrilled with the airplane otherwise.

Until my prop delaminated

I got VERY lucky, and am probably the only person to delaminate a Falcon propeller at idle on my final approach!! All I heard was a loud POP and the engine shut down, was able to glide the airplane in and when I went to inspect, I saw the prop was totally destroyed. None of us are certain how this happened...

Thankfully it's under warranty so it's being replaced

Monday morning I took the Yak out to fly, man that DA120 is really worn, it's way down on power. I might send it into DA to have them rebuild it, it probably needs it. Just afraid to do it since I don't like to mess with something if it isn't broken- a tired engine is technically not broken.

I did get to fly my buddies 104" Extreme Flight MXS, man that is such an easy to fly airplane. If I buy another 100CC airplane it'll probably be one of those.

I think it's just at the discretion of the retailers, in this instance I bought it from Tim at NorthWest RC so he's warrantying it for me since I had the propeller all of 3 days.
