So final thoughts on power system for this thing? 6S, 8S or 12S I am sorta leaning towards the middle and doing 8.

For me the final decision would have a lot to do with synergies with other planes. Are you running anything else on 4s? Or would you get some 2s packs to pair with your 6s that you already have?

Bushwacker I purchased the 70" slick pro as well and have encountered all the problems that you have, very disappointed in their quality control.
I'm slowly continuing with the build and after reading all the forums just ordered the MF 4330-298 to run on 8s, Ken recommends a 20x8 for low and slow or 20x10 for more xa. He is highly recommending that I go with the Jeti Mezon ESC around 95A, I think that I will go with the Jeti Spin 99 as I think it is the same except that it does not have the telemetry that the mezon does. Just my 2cents

The spin and the Mezon are very different ESCs. My spin 170 has a very paltry 1.5 second accelation setting. Get a Mezon 120.

Sorry to hear you are disappointed in the quality control. Unless you have a cracked cowl like Bushwacker, the hinges not lining up is actually pretty minor, it's more of an annoyance than an actual problem. The broken cowl ring is a problem with the way the cowl is packed, but again it's not really an issue, just glue it back on, it's only purpose is to help line up the cowl for mounting.

I agree with what Enterprise said. I have a Spin 80 that is a little weak in the acceleration department. I can speak for my Spin 80 and say it has a fixed voltage of 5V, I don't know if that is across the Spin line. I would also highly recommend the Mezon if you are going to go with Jeti. I think Ken understands all the problems people were having with the ZTW Geckos/MF combos and knows the Jeti's work. I have a Mezon Lite 160A with a MF 4330 500kv that works very well.
