My QQ yak uses the wire clips. The clips slip through aluminum pins on the ends of the wing but there are washers with grommets glued to them that go over the pins between the fuselage side and the clip. Makes for a snug fit and no play. Really simple system. You can see it in the online manual here:

I use those on every plane I own over 92" wide. Anything under that, the wings are never removed. The nut spins on easy and then tightens up good with the thick rubber washer.

On my Krill I did the cut-off bolt and hitch pin for the front wing attachments. Used a washer between the pin and the FG fuse structure. I can adjust the snugness a bit by varying the thickness of washer, or screwing the bolt in/out of the wing a bit.



The red cable is a piece of fishing leader to retain the hitch pin when the wings are off.
