USRA pilots were very active and very fast this past week doing demo flights at major events across the nation.

In California at the West Coast Festival of Giants (Castle), pilots Chuck Hebestreit, Don Corum and Tim Foster flew the whole range of current race classes:

Chuck flying the brand new BOSS 200 engine on his Unlimited Stiletto :
Don tuning Ryan Wheless' Miss Ashley, configured as a gasser for the Sportsman:
Jim Foster flew his F1 Pro (alcohol) Pole Cat and F1 GT (gas) GR-7.

Meanwhile on the right coast in North Carolina, the highly modified USRA Unlimited Class racers made an appearance at the First in Flight jet rally:

Chris Justus flying his Unlimited Stiletto:

Tom Keating fying his Unlimited Czech Mate:

All of these racers are getting ready for the 2015 Race of Champions in October 2015, where the prize purses are now totaling at $5,500.

More information about the Unlimited Scale Racing Association and the 2015 Race of Champions can be found at usrainfo.org and on Facebook at facebook.com/pages/Unlimited-Scale-Racing-Association/135087773207583

There are classes for everyone, including the entry level Sportsman class, which has become very popular over the past couple of years.

I remember heat racing against Darrol Cady out of WA state in Bowie, MD, many years ago. He and I were tied for 1st after 3 rounds.

Of course, this was Q40 racing, not USRA. But we turned circles ariund ourselves, USRA doesnt....
