Oh what a long week. And huge headache... but at least I made progress with the Behemoth Yak canopy. And oh how much fun this will be. NOT!! I like to build. I like to cover. But when it comes to painting... I'd rather have wood splinters shoved under my finger nails. Anyway... just about ready to shoot it black.

After a few coats...

After the protective tape is removed...

I had to remove my G-Force pilot to clean sanding dust from inside the canopy.

I also removed the covering from the front of the hatch. Thankfully my covering arrived 3 days early. But I'll still have to wait for the paint to fully cure before I can do any covering work. Guess I'll get back on the wings or oh hey, maybe start covering the fuse on the 330.

Got the interior kit in from Dynamic Balsa for the Cub. Will have a few evenings of shop time with out having to include motor junk . Also found the prop I was wanting originally. It's a Falcon not Xoar.

New toy! I finally pulled the trigger on upgrading my 8FG to a 18SZ, cost a bunch but I really wanted a touch screen bad - almost got the 16SZ, but it went out of stock... so here I am. Let the programming begin!

Same for me as Snoop... I've also been in the market for a new radio. Ever since Hitec jumped ship and sank into the deep abyss on producing a new radio system, I've been on the prowl for a new system. Two that are in the top four: Spektrum DX20 and the new Graupner MZ 32. Many I know have had or still have their DX 18's and some have gone to the 20. Not a single one is disappointed. The new Graupner shows deginate promise. Bit I'm not opposed to going back to Futaba. Don't get me wrong, I simply love my Aurora 9X. But there just simply is no possible way I can make it feasible option for the monster Stang. Not enough channels. Keep us all posted on your new radio system please.

For someone who does not like painting it looks very good and I could not see any runs or tape creep. Good job we still have to wait for @Jetpainter to bless it.

The propeller looks great that will be a nice addition to the plane. That plastic interior you bought brings back memories from long time ago I bought and interior kit well to say it was difficult or near impossible to in stall I worked on that dam thing for weeks got it in but not correctly and I have never ever done it again. Hope yours is a breez but I must say once they are in and painted they sure look good.

Well got it to work as last. This time when I stuck the landing gear wire into the plane landing gear mount and tried to bend the piano wire the mounting blocks did not fail you can bend the wire about 5 degrees without anything failing so it is go for now. Had to make a few changes the one that surprised is that the actual block that the wire sits in has to be made from maple bass wood just could not hold up it split every time. Ok now onto getting the fuselage done.

That's some pretty nice building there. Want a job? I got a Velox that is still needing to be completed. LOL

Probably should not have done this, but I just couldn't resist breaking into the CMP 50cc Edge. Why? Cuz it's there. LOL. Seriously, I really wanted to see what the overall quality of this ARF is. It's really not too bad. There are a few things I don't like about it. But nothing that would deter the average builder/assembler. The covering is actually really nice. Considering it has been sitting in a box for who knows how long. A little shrinking, (not that we are not expecting something like that from an ARF) but still pretty nice all the same.



The construction seems to be really good too. I certainly have seen far worse. Not too sure I like the "pocket" style hinge lines. I mean, they are a great scale feature. But really not done correctly. In order to get good throw from the surfaces, there will have to be some sort of modification done. Leaving the surfaces out from the trailing edges of the flight surfaces really should not be an option. "IF" I choose to build/assemble this I do have an idea on how to remedy that hurdle. The canister tunnel is completely enclosed. (Which I like) Firewall is glued in and done right. I don't see the need for the aluminum brackets like on the bigger planes. I also like the fact they took into consideration the gas pedal servo location. And a few other really minor things. But nothing a guy could not handle. Considering the cost of the total package and the cost of what it will take to get it airborne, It should be a worthy venture.

I decided I just "HAD" to see what it would look like all assembled. Hmm....I kind of like it. How about you guys?



So what do you think fellas? Should I build it? Or let someone else do it? Not like I need another plane...lol.

Nice looking plane how many irons do you have in the fire. Well like I always say the person how dies with the most toys wins.
