Damn I'm hungry
Been working on an inexpensive electric ARF conversion. It's for a new friend I have made. He is a retired crop duster and flew air tractors for quite some time. I got him maiden on his first gasser (30cc Redwing slick). This is a very light built 70" span Edge 540. Putting an RCGF 26cc gasser in it. Going with an RcExcel ignition. 2 new RCGF ignitions in a row had bad "noise issues" from what I believe to be poorly constructed plug caps. The motor itself is a little beam mounted beast! This should be a FUN plane:).

Had a relatively productive day today since I had the day off. Started with finding my RF7 software this morning and repairing the dongle so it would work again. Then received my new Jeti DPS40 electronic switch later in the day, got to work putting it into my Edge. This should safely provide plenty of power for my current sipping HSB-9380TH servos, and it lets me switch it on and off with a magnetic key.

Power is going into my PowerBox PowerExpander SRS which lets me use 2 Hitec SL receivers for redundancy.

Minimal appearance on the outside, just touch and hold the magnetic key for 2 seconds and it turns on, repeat for shut down.

The weather has been so bad I am looking for things to do in the workshop. Cannot paint the cowl it is wet and extremely humid. I thinking of building a new carrying case for my flight stuff. And modifying the existing one. Will see what i do. Man I am starting to believe I am living in the Brazilian ran forest.

Had I good day built a small fuel box that holds the glow, fuel and the starter. And the second thing that was done was to the existing flight box was to add a second draw above the bottom one and raised the platform or tray so that the second draw could be installed. Then cut of one end of the flight box were the fuel bottle use to be.

Pretty much got the business end of this small gasser tidied up and will finish the fuel system tonight in the shop. Weighed out everything and it looks like take off weight going to be 10.5 pounds :). VERY TEMPTED :cautious: NOT to tell my friend (the owner) that it's done and keep it:devil:. What are good friends for anyway?.
