I can’t believe it took me a hole day to build this motor box to get me from the firewall to the motor to fit the distance required to make the electric motor fit the cowl.

Made a little progress on the electric motor conversion, box and motor installed. Still working on the fixing the big hole on the bottom of the cowl. This is going to take a while and patience.

Well this went well. Ready for some primer and see how many pinholes I have and need to fill. The masking tape trick worked for me the shape is not perfect but good enough for the bottom of a cowl. Taped the bottom with 3 layers of masking tape and rolled it with a roller till it was well sealed and flat. Then to 2 good layers of PVA just over the tape. Then glassed the inside with West Epoxy. The tape came of perfectly did not expect that. Did a little putty work and sanding now I just need to spray a layer of primer on to it.

Everything has been removed that can be and new batteries, fuel tank, and associated lines installed. Whilst hooking the fuel line to the carb I noticed the left exhaust flange looked odd, it was half unthreaded and the threads were a tad boogered up. So being as I had numerous ports for smoke trying to figure out where worked best, I removed all of it and ordered new. Until the exhaust shows up, I am done because I want to run it before covering it all back up.

Got the new 92" AJ Slick on the bench the last handful of nights. Engine was test ran last night but it needs a carb rebuild, and probably some new reeds. Need to baffle the cowl and cut out the hot air vents but otherwise she's just about ready to rip :banana-dance:

That blue baffling around your cylinders looks a little tight. That might have something to do with your overheating………. :banana-dance:

Well made some progress the white is painted on looks ok, just need to do the red in a couple of days. At the last minute I realize I needed to get the hot air out so added a hole in the bottom with a air damm this should do the trick. Did a quick CG check and found out that I had to add over a pound to the front of the plane, which I will never do. So in the process removing the 3 servos from the tail and moving them forward, this should prevent me from adding weight to the nose of the plane. Changing power systems is never straight forward always needs more changes than you thought.
