I have gone to Pro Flex for everything. Started using it a number years ago and up to now it has done well for me and it does not go hard. i use to rebuild my gas tanks every second year. Not needed anymore.
I tried the Pro Flex back when it first came out, seemed ok, very flexible, but the smoke pump was sucking it closed so went to Viton. That is if memory serves me right.

Never used it for smoke and yes very flexible. I can see with some suction it could go flat.

Ace,
Why the change of heart? Eliminating the scale details?
Not losing the scale details, the plane by appearance is still the same. The pump is toast, so it's gone along with all the related stuff. All the telemetry stuff, airspeed, altitude, rpm's, temp's and associated hardware. There was probably 20' just in wire to all of it and 10' of copper tubing wrapped around the exhaust for smoke. And will lose near half of the battery weight going from 4 cell's to two, and according to my records no battery used over 1000mah on a weekend and had 5200mah each so 2600 will do nicely. Currently I have three heavy duty switches in it, two to Rx and one to ign, trying to figure out how I can reduce those as well. This airframe was designed around 30lb mark, as it sat it was 50lb. It handed the extra weight quite well with exception of the landing gear, they kept bending. Once I get through all this and run it, I have some new better designed gear I can put in it, the new gear will require a new bottom of the fuse so if I can lose a few lbs. the old gear might be ok.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol

All I can say is that over the many years that I have been in the hobby that weight is my enemy. To day I build my planes as light as I can.

Yep, same here, but this one had so much added scale stuff. Lots of brass tubing, aluminum, screws, carbon steel, even the canopy is three times as thick as the kitted one. The 4 cell Fromeco battery weighs 6.6oz, the 2 cell weighs 3.3, switching to 2 cell is 6.6oz. I don't know the total weight loss when done but it will be noteworthy.

I can't find or think of a good remedy for the switches I guess I'll keep them.
But being as a large portion of weight removed came from the front, the switches and Smart Fly will be moved from the rear (see pic) to the front.
Still want me posting here? lol
