I just have to install the receiver and propeller and the plane will be ready to fly for tomorrow. Also better get in contact with my local hobby store and get another plane on order, this will take at least a month to show up. Now I can back to the Kolm. Crazy from the smallest to largest planes I have built.

All I can say if you have never had the chance to fly one of these planes you have missed something they are impressive, and I believe that Twisted Hobby kits one of best indoor planes.

Back to the Kolm engine build. Decided it was time to get the Kolm mounted and see how it looks. Drill and balance the propeller. Well it is mounted and prop is installed. This thing is just huge, it is the biggest propeller I have drilled and worked with. Standing back and looking at it makes you think what have I started. Just have to get everything hooked up and figure out and how to make the throttle work with out getting my hands in the way.
The propeller is bigger than my indoor plane in every aspect length and wingspan.

Ok this is disappointing I thought I had a full roll of Blue UltraCote but just a little left from an old roll. None of the local hobby stores had a blue roll. Did find 2 new rolls of smoked purple so that is what is going onto the plane. Just having difficulty getting into covering the plane normally I look forward to doing it. I just have the urge to go flying and get out of the workshop, but the weather is got cooperating.

Ok a little progress covered the bottom of the left wing. All I can say these big planes are not meant to be covered with plastic film. Going through it quickly.
The picture is driving me nuts in the picture the lengths along the wing do not look equal. Went downstairs to check the wing and all three sections are within 1/16. So the picture is distorting it some how.

Trying to figure out how to cut the covering for the top of the wing. How wide and colour sequence. The wing is so big so if I get wrong I will waste a lot of covering or just not look good.

My big problem is were the 5 pieces come to a point, how to do the over laps to a point. To get a 1/4 inch overlap joint on all the pieces and come to point is not going look good and get 5 layers thick at the point. On top of that coming to point and getting all straight is difficult. When ever plastic covering comes to a point it peels back or curls up after cleaning the plane a few times. I am going sit back and think about this and see how to avoid this mess.
