Scale Nelitz 1/3 scale Cub build

Following are a few photos of jigs I used on the Super Cub and the Champ.
For the landing gear the legs are mounted on the attachment points and can be flipped over by the axle.
For the fuselage the front plant is scaled down from the full scale version. You rotate the fuselage from the plate, a short axle is mounted the the landing gear plate with standoffs

For the wings, they are mounted at the root and the lift strut points, the can rotated 90 degrees without touching. the lift struts are 1/4" steel bars drilled for 4-40 at the lift strut attachment point and threaded at the center box for adjustment. The ailerons are jointed with 1/4" wood dowel the the hinge points.

The stabs and elevators are jointed with K&S tube then stood off and weighted of painting. An alternate method used for the Champ, the rudder is mounted to the hinges and held in place with the control; horn.

Tony, was wondering if the tail would need support in a rotisserie setup. I like your precision tail support....

Working on a firewall plate design. I'll cut something tomorrow.

If the tail is not supported you need a cantilever setup. The 3/4" pipe has a flange bolted to the firewall. The pipe slips into a larger tube clamped in the vice on a mobile work bench. The plane is rotated and held in position with a pair of vice grips.
