No amount of video or pictures can describe how cool this event was. Watching the guys enter that first gate 225 mph and diving down to the chicane was nuts. The entry gate was about 50/60 feet higher than the infield gates. Red Bull doesn't mess around in making sure you are entertained. Sunday the weather was perfect. Also the event format with head to head qualifying to set the finals is very fun to watch. The pilots are certified nuts!

What is funny is if you look close at the planes, they are no different than 90% of the modelers out there. something is loose or broken, duck tape and loads of glue. haha Thats with the minor and quick needed repairs anyway.

Those are not normally repairs. Those are often modifications. They all have ideas on what will make them go faster. Many are trying to reduce cooling drag so they stuff inserts in the intake to reduce the amount of air going in the cowl. They don't need much cooling for 1 minute of full throttle.

I noticed that too. I was talking to one of the mechanics there who also flew RC. He said their patch material is a tad bit stronger than Monokote though. LOL.
