I started doing the same.

I was as well, until the 8a (16 burst) starting coming standard on the gecko rx (65a and up I think). That seems to be enough insurance for me :)

I'm using just the gecko internal on 60" birds and down without a blink, and Brian is using just the gecko on his 71 Extra.

For those who like external, check out ZTW's new 12A BEC:

Thanks bryansifsof44, dth7, and Gyro for the continuing help troubleshooting my situation. I have a CC 10A BEC in the parts drawer. I'll wire it up tonight if time permits. I've started running Geckos in the last two airframes I've purchased and have been really happy with them. It's only in the 60's here in Michigan, but the gecko and suppo motor on my 60" Corvus are coming down cold to the touch. The minor repairs on my EF 60" Extra are complete and just received a bunch of Falcon props from Bob's Hobby Center in Orlando. I've been running Xoar props, but the Falcons seem to take a ground strike a bit better. I fly from a semi-rough grass field and nose-overs happen (usually when taxiing) too often. I really appreciate everyone's input.

Ordered. We'll see how she does. Looks like it weighs less than my large 20a BEC Pro from CC.

Did EF figure out anything on the black covering peeling? My wing just delaminated

You might be able to iron it back down with a trim iron set on low. Work from the good covering and iron towards the delamination so you don't trap any air.

The trouble seems to start at a pointy end and the clear peels back from there.

I've got one of the effected planes, but I usually hit the whole plane with a heat gun and I think that minimized my problem. I just have a little trouble with the tip of the points peeling up, but I iron those back down, A few times is did not want to stick so I put some clear Ultrakote over them.
