Wings are hinged with GG. I wiped it periodically and that helped. But I got some on the covering and I don't like that but oh well. Installed the control arms in the ailerons with 5min epoxy. Installed the servos in the wings. Now I am waiting for servo arms and stand offs. I'll get some 60 min epoxy for the rudder horns on Monday and get that installed. Hopefully the standoffs show up on Monday too, then. Can get the motor installed. I can smell the light at the end of the tunnel!

Today I should have motor mounts and a special arrival. Revolectrix 435 blend 4600 mah 6S batteries! Same weight as the Glacier 3700 mah! Got an email from Castle saying the HV 80 should be OK with the "slightly higher voltage" of the 4.35v per cell batteries even on 12S (that is 52.2V). That is 24% more mah in the same weight.

I was looking at the motor box last night trying to decide how to mount the ESC and route the wires. I am thinking about mounting under the motor box like in the photo and flush mounting power pole connectors through the floor of the battery tray to connect the series harness to the ESC. The only thing that worries me is cutting the hole in the floor and then having to move the batteries on top for balance.

No motor mounts, but the Revos arrived. 630 g for the 4600 30C 6S. For a 12S pack that's only 2.74oz more than the 3700 Glaciers.

Got the rudder control arms in. See the photos on how I measured.

I got all those measurements equal on both sides. Did I leave anything out? The ball joint pivot will be very close to the hinge line is it is off any.

Made up a series harness with a tap for a BEC so I could program the ESC and run up the motor with the Revo 435 blend. Looks like my motor is 214 KV. Castle log said just over 3000 Watts on firmware 3.27 but I usually see around 15% higher on a watt meter. Batteries were holding around 3.85 V/cell under load. Need to make up an adapter to hook it up. Now I just need the servo arms.

Got a little more done. I mounted the ESC to the side of the motor box. I prefer to mount on the bottom but I would need to extend the leads so I went to the side.

I also drilled the cowl for mounting. Used a trick I found from someone on another forum. Stuck the spinner to Popsicle sticks with foam tape. Centered the back plate on the cowl. The spinner back plate is then mounted on the motor to align the cowl and set the spinner gap.
