I made the maiden flight of my 56" AJ Laser. It flies like its on rails. Very precise. It hovers with ease. Knife Edges with very little rudder input. It does crazy tumbles. It will slow down and float as well. It will just about land itself. I've been flying 60" airframes, for the most part, but I'm really impressed with this airframe.

I'll see what I can do...My cameraman is 14 years old and hasn't been bitten by the RC bug... I bought him a trainer, but...he has other interests. I'll see if I can drag him along.

I maidened my 73" yesterday. CG was a little too far aft do there was some coupling. Wonderful rolls and yes, super simple to land. Second flight with bigger batts and better CG ended when a bullet between the motor and ESC came undone. The motor actually went backwards so hard the prop bolt came undone. Plane landed with free spinning prop perfectly. Already fixed it and back at it today. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409409815.707412.jpg

I electrical taped them together.

Got a number of very windy flights on it today. Tried a few props. Started with Falcon 21x10, then Xoar 21x10 today, then a Vess 20B as that is the prop I will use on the VVRC 40 and DA-35, and finally the Falcon 20x12 which is the speed/XA prop. Got 2 turns on a pop top with it, maybe 1.5 with the others. This not a pop top machine though with the huge side area.

The best description I have at the moment is a more precise version of my 89 slick. It has a ton of tail authority, but where is shines brightest is in roll. I had to change the way I do pop tops to get the aileron out of earlier to get it to work.

I am surprised that I like it this much after my bad experience with the 59 slick.

I flew the IMAC basic with it today and other than needing F3A braking and a downline mix, I flew it pretty nice for so little time on the plane. Of course this thing is not scale and could not be used above basic. Kind of like using a 2M pattern ship in IMAC.

I flew my 56" in 15-20 mph winds today. I did some elevators into the wind, the laser came straight down and even backed up a little. I did a knife edge harrier...had it on its side and the headwind just held it in place. It felt really cool. I let my airspeed get too low on one landing approach and the wind pushed it down pretty hard from about 5 feet high. I was amazed that there wasn't any damage at all. It has a sturdy LG. I have twenty flights on this airframe and am very happy with its performance. totally locked in and nimble. I'm running Andrew Jesky's recommended set-up (Hacker A40-10s V2, Castle Talon 90 esc, 14x7 prop, HS 85mg servos ) with the exception of battery choice, I'm using Gens Ace 3300 mAh 25c as well as some Eflite 3200 mAh 20c.
